For those of you who know me, know that I love SQ FT Gardening, and I have posted and posted about it. That and of course cold frames.. SO I have combines the two...here is a picture of one of my raised boxes, that I built... on a slant.... 18" to the back and 12" deep in the front. I stapled weed clothe to the bottom and hinged an old window to the top. I drilled/attached 2 "stays" that I can use to prop it open when the weather is nice and close it when it is cold.. This will house my Lettuce....
All my materials are repurposed.. costing me NOTHING...
I will fill the bottom with dirt and rock and leave only 8" on the top for "Mel's blend" (1/3 compost, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 vermiculite)...
More pictures to come.... Spring is a coming....
