I just got my No Greater Joy magazine yesterday. I looked through it and Debbie Pearl has put together an heirloom seed package online at their store. They also have a DVD about beginning homesteading, too. Has all kinds of great info for beginners. Lots of gardening info, too. I think I will get that. It has cheesemaking, bread making, butchering chickens, just basic country life skills.

Her DD has an herb store online, too. Here is the web site info for the seeds and herbs: BulkHerbstore.com and the DVD is at:Pearloutdoors.com.

The magazine is full of great child training tips. They are a homeschool family from way back. They live in Tenn.

Just thought this would be good for ya'll to check out. She has some really old seeds. Some I've not heard of.

Kelley, the magazine is free and is a great help for raising children. They had 5 and homeschooled the whole bunch all through school. They are all married now and have tons of kids and all will be homeschooling theirs. It's a great resource. They have lots of books, too. Like Created to be His Helpmeet. I love that book. Anyway, go to their web site and order the mag. They send it every month.

I have 2 huge gardens. The first one is about 125x125 or so. The other newer one is going to be bigger this year. It was about 130x150'. We will make it longer to grow more for the farmer's market. I need to grow potatoes this year. I got carried away last year and forgot to make room for them. I sure missed them.

But right now it looks like we will have a late planting time. It is super wet out there. It will have to be dry for a month to even get a tractor in. I had our pigs in the newer area and they really made a mess of it. It's all mud right now. And with all this rain we're having it will be this way for quite some time. I'd like to get some grasses planted in the chicken yard aera and might do that this next week.

What are your gardens like? What is your favorite things to plant? What does the best for you in Texas? I bet you've already started yours.
