I bought two blooming heather plants this spring and have them in large pots. They've loved it outdoors but I'm not sure how to overwinter them. Do any of you have any ideas on this? Thanks!

Thank you Mary Beth, I'm not sure which I have, foolishly didn't keep the tags but I think I will try your recommendation and stash them in the garage. I live on the lakeshore and it is quite warm here although the weather report for the weekend is predicting 0 and below nights so I better get my plants all tucked in for the winter. Thanks again, happy gardening! Do you have Erica or Calluna heathers? One is a heather and the is a Heath and both are called Heather. Here in the PNW they just grow year-round with little care. Maybe fertilize twice a year. But in Montana maybe a good mulch in winter. If they are in pots the roots are exposed and get colder quicker. I would put them in a grage or shed for the winter, if you keep them in the pots. I believe it would be too warm in the house and they do need to be cool to bloom again in the spring or summer depending which kind you have. Whew!!! Did any of that make sense? MB
