We are really having a beautiful fall. the leaves have stayed on longer and that crisp tang is in the air. I don't know about everyone else but I love the smell of woodsmoke outside. Not on my clothes but OUTSIDE is nice. :)

As promised....my pumpkin pie awaits us tonight for dessert! I also made pumkin spice cookies...for a dear friend...
Who's in for a slice?
Today was a first...my husband took me to a deserted olive grove, and we picked 2 huge buckets of green olives! We are going to cure them in "LYE", and hopefully I'll be around to tell you how they taste! We normally drive 2 hours to Mexico to get our olives, and last visit we were told that the roadside venders that we buy from don't even make them, it's one large company that delivers to all the venders! We met a very nice man from Mexico today, he told us how to do it! Wish me luck!
I promise there is no LYE in my pie!
Happy harvest all!

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. We are having a gorgeous fall show here in IL. We've taken tons of photos that I plan to put on a dvd and send to my husbands family in southern CA.

Sorry about the size! I tried to figure out how to do it--didn't work, however!

These are some pics of around here a little earlier in the season. The vegies on the hoosier are from my garden!

The pics are wonderful! I love Fall, too! Just got in from cutting back all my perennials as the frost has done them in. I tucked in some bulbs while I was it--can never have too many of those in the Spring! It is getting dark by 5 now and really cold as soon as the sun goes behind the hills. A wood fire is nice to come in to!!

Those photos are beautiful! The fog...I miss the fog!
We're still roasting here in Southern California! Yesterday was in the 90's! I just planted tons of lettuce, and I hope it can hang on until the weekend...they say we'll get some rain. Our seasons change so slowly here, but there is a little something different in the air...our nights are just begining to cool down.
I love the colors of fall, red, orange, gold, and the rich greens and browns. It makes me crave homemade soup, bread and pumpkin pie!
The smell of cloves and nutmeg and cinnamon...I love it! In fact...I think I'll bake some pie this weekend! Anyone up for a slice?

Fall is my favorite season. We've had a couple of perfect October weekend days. The sky just doesn't get any more blue.

I love the pictures, MaryBeth.
