The horticulture extension office of Texas A&M University is looking for folks who would like to be rose testers for them. The project involves growing roses from a list that they provide, but you must purchase your own roses. You have to pledge not to use chemicals on the plants. The staff will provide info on how you can participate in the study. In order to be certified as an Earth Kind Rose by the university, the roses must have proven to be disease resistant and easy care roses over a period of several years.
Contact person is Michelle Shook at m-shook@tamu.edu. She seems to be swamped so if you contact her and don't hear back immediately, do not be discouraged. It seems like it took me about 2 weeks to receive a response.
