I am so excited! With this being such an awful growing season I am proud to say that I just picked 27 lbs of Jalapenos out of my garden!

WOW Ms.Lilly!
You go girl! I thought I was the only crazy one with my 100+ tomato plants....I have one jalapeno plant, but next year I'll do a few more so I can make bread & butter peppers, they sound awesome.....thanks for the idea!

Update- I am about halfway through the batch and have 31 pints of jalapeno slices. Todays agenda will be jalapeno jelly (one of our favorites too) and putting some in the dehydrator. I may save some back for a batch or two of salsa if there are any ripe tomatos. I will use some of these items as gifts and for bribes (barter). Lisa we have 43 jalapno plants in the ground. I still have 5 cayenne plants, 5 lemon fish peppers, 4 anaheim, 20 hungarian wax peppers, and 3 baloon peppers yet to pick and process. Oh yeah there are 2 tobasco peppers in the hot bed in the greenhouse. Here is hoping the weather holds out so the rest of the peppers finish their color changes. I didn't even start on the bell peppers yet-yikes!

That is a lot of jalapenos! How many plants do you have? Do you make jalapeno jelly? It's one of my all time favs.

Lilly, don't know what you are going to do with all those jalapenos but I have a suggestion. My kids just love my Bread and Butter pickled jalapenos. Use your bread and butter pickle recipe and use sliced jalapenos and onions instead of cucumbers and onions. keep seeds or not, depending how hot you like things. I usually put a habanero or two in the mix.
