Okay I will probably live to regret this but is there anyone in the Spokane area who has some extra zucchini they want to get rid of?

I particularly want the larger, "whale-style" ones - all of my grandma's zucchini recipes call for the big ones and noone at the farmer's market has any this year....

I'll swap ya for something...

Seriously!? I've had zukes coming out of my ears this year! And BIG ONES TOO! I will send one (if only to see if it get thers in one piece)!! Now everything else I've grown this year, pumpkins, peppers and beans didnt do worth a hoot. But i do have zuchinni.... so far we've eaten zuchinni bread, muffins, fried, sauteed, tossed in a salads, cakes, more bread, more muffins, again fried.... I'd trade a zuke for ANY other vegetable!! ;)

Ack! My zucchini hasn't even flowered yet! I went out tonight and saw the flower buds forming. They better hurry up and do their thing!!

Alee - I know, I think fall is close upon us. I'll be thinking warm thoughts about your veggies....

and Jami - I figured someone would get a laugh at the extra zucchini part - after the zucchini harvest I had two years ago I never thought I would need to beg zucchini:D

I actually composted three large ones because I had already filled the freezer and all the available canning jars

I am just praying that my zucchini plants produce before the frost. Yesterday was in the 70's and this morning felt pretty crisp! Yikes!

I have to chime in on this post....just the topic title cracked me up...extra zucchini??? It's like a pun because every year I have a zillion times over extra zucchini, girl...it gets to the point of ridiculous. It's like MJ says in her Lifebook...you find out who your friends are when you start sharing it! Sorry you didn't have better luck this year Gracie...wish I were closer to share! I only wish it stored or could be processed to taste like it does fresh because in the wintertime I cringe when I have to buy it at the store.

Oh and you have my sympathies Audrey - the one vegetable I have to grow is zucchini. This was just a lousy year for the garden

Really, Amy, how hard could it be to put those tube thingies like they have at the bank all over the country, so we could send stuff instantly? Watch out... incoming!

Hubby won't let me grow zuch's (hates them with a passion) so I try to rely on the kindness of strangers and this year I've not seen a one. I think the growers are all hording them!

Toto, we're not in Kansas any more!
