Howdy, gardeners! While cleaning a bit in the garden yesterday, I found that my garlic chives had gone to seed. I'd like to share.

Garlic chives have a flat leaf, grow much taller than regular chives, and have a mild garlic flavor. The flowers in mid-late summer are beautiful -- white allium-like balls. I use them in the perennial garden and the herb garden, and also grow them in a low terracotta pot -- moving them into a prominent spot when they are in bloom. They have wintered over beautifully outside for several winters in the pot.

Garlic chives reseed freely, so I usually cut off the spent blooms before the seed ripens. But this year I missed doing that, and so I have some seed to share.

Please email me if you'd like a few seeds. I have enough for 3 or 4 Farmgirls.
