Posted - Jun 25 2008 : 11:58:08 PM Hey Tina, thanks for the info on the pear trees. I just planted two of them this year and it looks like I won't have fruit until next year. I never had pear trees before, I did not know how to pick them. Thanks!

Posted - Jun 25 2008 : 11:51:40 PM late August to the first of October. they do not ripen on the tree you need to pick them when they have just a slight change in coloration.. or when you can shake the tree and a few fall easily to the ground...then place them in a paper bag to ripen the rest of the way. When they are ripened they will have a slight "give" near the stem.
