Just wondering... I am new at harvesting seeds. Should i let the blossoms die on their own before storing them in evelopes, or can I pick them so they die, then let them dry in envelopes... or am I doing it all wrong? Also, is it possible to dry peony blossoms for seeds, or do you have to actually dig up something? I wanted to give my farmgal some peony seeds/bulbs, but don't know how to go about harvesting them. Any advice is welcome. Thanks! |

And the freezer method also keeps vermin form raiding your supply.
We have had mice get into a drawer twice and amlost eat everything. They seem to like the gourd seed best of all 
Another good method is to store seed in glass jars out of the heat/moisture and sun. Think babyfood jars and those are usually the perfect size-especially for very fine or tiny seeds. You can organize these in a fishing tackle box or small rubbermaid container. |

Just to make sure, you might want to dry seeds spread out on a paper towel or few sheets of news paper
Any moisture and the seeds may mold
We store our dry seeds in the freezer double wrapped in ziploc bags |
