And I sure could use some advice. I found some little green worms making themselves at home and eating my mint leaves like they were at an All You Can Eat buffet.

I heard that they don't like soap or hot sauce. So I mixed up some soap and hot sauce with water and sprayed it on the mint. No they didn't like it and it was a massacre. But the next morning my mint leaves were black.

I've got a new "crop" comming up. What should I do? The mint is planted by my porch in the soil and not in a pot.

Trim off the dead parts and water . It should be ok. Sounds like you used extreemly hot sauce. Maybe just a little Cayennee pepper in the soapy water. Use a gentle insecticidal soap too.
