I got to play in the dirt a little more tonight. While the kids watched "Bee Movie" (actually pretty cute) on DVD I sat on the family room floor and took all my seeds out and planted another 84 peat plugs with seeds..yay!! I got a wonderful seed trade box from Diane (Daisyfarm) in Canada the other day and had so much fun planting yet more tomatoes and peppers..you really can't have TOO many, right?? and then got busy planting herbs and some marigolds and nasturtiums too. All the plants I started two weeks ago are up and growing now...it is so fun to take care of my little "indoor garden" right now. I have a giant big south facing window in my living room and tables in front of it covered with flats of growing seedlings. So..I got my gardening "fix" for the week...it helps.
Hopefully I will be able to hang clothes out to dry on the clothesline tomorrow..if it dosn't rain or snow...it is iffy.
Thanks so much Diane for the fun new types of heirloom tomatoes and peppers and the rest!! You should be getting your package soon. My girls can hardly wait to plant the "cinderella pumpkins". We will plant them directly in the ground in May. And all those poppies...it is going to be beautiful!! I can hardly wait!!

Hi Jenny,
Sounds like you are having a great time. I have three greenhouses the largest is 30'x100' and I still can hardly wait each year to fill them up!. I raise a Certified Organic Salad Green in one of them and sell it locally. A second greenhouse is just a big indoor vegetable garden for our families use. The third is where I start all of the plant babies and also my baby chick brooder.
Ahh.... there's nothing so good for the soul as farming!

God bless Farmers

It must be some kind of throw back to my childhood, but there is nothing more therapeutic for me than playing in the dirt!
Jenny I am so glad you enjoyed the seeds. Sometimes I forget that not everyone likes to plant one of everything like I seem to do and I tend to get carried away!! And like I've said before, those seed catalogues that arrive during the dreary days of early January are just sooo bad for somebody like me!
I hope the heirloom pumpkin grows well. It is a new variety I am trying myself this year...we'll have to keep in touch and see how they make out. The poppies were new for me last year and some of the seed pods are the size of my fist, so pretty the flowers too.
I "played seeds" this afternoon too. Started a few more tomatoes, more peppers, statice, marigolds, a couple kinds of rudbeckia, monarda, etc. All my broccoli and cauliflower are up today. It's been rainy here and we really need some good warm sunshine now.
