A year ago I was outside on my hands and knees, 8 months pregnant, planting carrot seeds, lettuce, peas, cabbage and planning where to put all sorts of other fruits and veggies.

Today I checked on the tulips that I discovered growing wild alongside our duplex and they are 6 inches up! Leaves...no flowers yet! How about your garden? What were you doing a year ago?

Lisa- Isn't it funny how we change our perceptions of the weather after such a harsh winter? 50 is balmy after some of the temperatures that we have had! LOL

A year ago I was tearing down a deck that came down right on the garden spot. Also digging up a lot of old grass. This year I'm planning to have a garden again! But...there's still 6 inches of snow out there! So, I keep on planning....

Same thing as this year. Windows crowded with tons of seedlings wishing for warmer weather. The only difference is that this year we got a LOT more snow than last year and it's preventing me from getting the new plastic on my make-shift greenhouse.

However, the past 4 days, I've been able to set my seedlings out on the porch after noon to get some sun. It's been downright balmy in the upper 40's and lower 50's!

A year ago, we were building our raised bed and getting my seed packets organized for planting.

Today, I'm looking out a window to 12 inches of snow still on the ground, with thoughts of a "quick" melting!!!!

A year ago I was doing much the same as I am now. Staring out the window wishing the snow away and knowing that it is still to early to start anything.

A year ago I watched our neighbor slave in her greenhouse even in the dead of winter

Her garden was a thing of beauty

She and her husband wil be moving North end of this month

I'll be buying her greenhouse and carrying on everyting she taught me
