Posted - Sep 26 2007 : 11:17:20 AMJust wondering if anyone knows of a greenhouse builder or supplier that would make a hoop house for a backyard garderner. I don't want to get the super small ones I've seen but then again I am not going to need one the size a nursery would have.

Posted - Sep 26 2007 : 12:43:37 PMI don't know who would build one for you except some contractor in your area maybe? A hoop house is easy to build with pvc pipe, pvc elbows and pvc glue. You can buy greenhouse plastic on line. You would want to spend the extra for the uv protected stuff so you don't have to replace it every year or every couple of years.
If you do it yourself, you'll not only save tons of money but you can make it whatever size you want. Also, make sure you drill holes in the one end of the pipes sitting on the ground so you can run heavy wire or rope through it and tie it on good solid stakes driven in the ground. That way the wind can't take it to your neighbor in the next county.
