We bought our first home last year & it came complete with a Humongous Hydreangea this thing is aproximatly 15 ft high & when it blooms it is georgeous!
I think it is what they call a Peagee. its underside was terribly overgrown with dead branches & weeds so this spring we trimmed it out & it is again covered in buds it will look like a huge white umbrella when it blooms.
My Question is when we trimmed it out we found some of its roots were running on top of the ground..is that normal? can I put top soil over them & plant flowers underthere? or should I just leave it be? all the roots on top have a thin "bark" to them.
any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
