So today when Nora went down for her nap (thank goodness that she is taking one today) I went outside for some fresh air and gardening. I have pretty much given up on weeding my garden right now, I know I should go back and do it again or it will just keep getting worse, but it is a job where I need like 5 hours to just get it all done or they come back just as strong. So I worked on the front of the house. I trimmed the pine trees that were over growing the side walk, trimmed a decidious tree that has a really cool huge tree trunk section under it (I want to make it into a place to plant flowers around and put a big pot on top of it) Trimmed the other side of the decidious tree where there was a big dead spot, cleaned out under neath the decidious tree and another pine tree and put a lawn chair and two milk crates there (milk crates for a table) and put another milk crate as a foot stool! :) I trimmed the bush and pine tree by my stairs so we can actually get up and down without fighting it, mowed the front lawn, trimmed another pine tree on the other side of the front so I can more easily walk back to where the water is. I also organized my storage shed so I can fit the lawn mower in there (I always worry it will get stolen) and put the jars that Michelle (Huckleberrywine) sent me to wait until I am ready to can. I filled a huge rubbermaid trashcan with lawn debris and there is a lot that I just swept under the evergreens until I can get a truck in to help me haul it for compost.

Now if only I owned this property, but it is only a rental. But if I don't take pride in the property, who will? Right?

Sherri-
Oh No! That must be disappointing!

Well I decided I wanted to be out for a little longer so I took Nora and Sky out and I washed the car and then I sat down in my little nook that I made. It was perfect. Watering the lawn had cooled everything down, there was a nice little breeze and the whole front yard is shaded so it there was no glaring bright spots to avoid. I can't wait until my front lawn revives a little more with continued watering. Hmm... I think I need to go take some pictures! LOL BRB

I worked in the yard all weekend plus we're painting our house, so we washed it and got started with that, so I know how exhausted you must be Alee. On a side note, our house is 90% cedar shingles but there is a bit of horizontal siding on the front. We decided to paint the siding pale moss green and the gable ends darker green. But what to paint the front door? We decided on "Antique Burgundy" - it looked good on the color chart. Oh my gosh!! When I got it on the door, it looked like Barney came to visit. I'm going to go tomorrow and try to find something to calm it down a little!!
