Does anyone else use one of these?
I own one, and I love it very much. No gasoline or oil is needed, and I never have to worry about running over an electrical cord when mowing the lawn. All I need to worry about is sharpening the blades twice a summer. My front and back yard combined is about a 1/2 acre and I get the lawn fully cut in about 30 minutes.
But...the only thing that irks me is the looks I get from people who think DH and I are freaks for not using a big, noisy gas guzzler to cut our lawn. 
I don't think I'll ever use a gas or electric mower again!

I got mine at Home Depot - for about $100 and it works fine. I need to sharpen the blades, this is its third year - I am such a slug about things like that. It still cuts just fine and is very easy to use, I have a city lot and not much grass and plan on reducing the grass further, to more gardens and flowers :-)

I havent used one , but since we are moving in with BIL, he has one so I guess that next month I will find out whats so great about it,lol. I agree though, it has to be better than a gas guzlin noisy machine.

Great to see I am not alone, though it does feel like it, doesn't it?
I have four lots and a large house. It takes me longer, but I don't mind - just section it off and attack each night as I come home from work. Usually, that leaves me a couple of nights a week when I don't have to mow. Sharpening - I had someone do it the first time - took too long, so I bought a second one. At $100 US, that is not much. The second one comes with a kit to sharpen, but I haven't done it yet. Wasn't thrilled with the job I paid for, so am going to try it - any hints?
Oh - neighbors have quit asking me, or commenting - just tell me what a good job I am doing:)

Just saw one the other day at the Habitat Re-Store. It was only $15, but my husband said no, it wouldn't cut the weed stuff we have in our back yard. I saw really sad to leave it behind...

These are great. I think everyone in the city should have one-- I just don't see the sense of getting out a huge gas mower to do a 20x50 city lot... We had a big old clunky pushmower (not like the sleek light-weight ones they have now) when I was a kid and my mom was surprised we'd wanted to use it. Between my sister and I she didn't have to mow our small yard very often!

I have one that I bought like 2 years ago at Sears. They still make them! I used it alot at the old house but we have a 2-1/2 acres now and I only use it in trimming areas and on the hills.

I want one so badly. I hate our gas mower - I hate the noise, I hate the smell, I hate how heavy it is, and the room it takes up in our storage area. |

LOL, I went and got my exercise and mowed my small yard, sharpened or not , it still cut the grass!!!!!

My boyfriend just bought one online for our place. Our stinky gas one is on its last legs, so we decided to replace it with this. We live in the woods, so the lawn is pretty teenie anyway. I can't wait for it to get here, especially after reading about how much people like the ones they have!

I have one and the grandkids7-9-13 love using it. And I let them. After I got mine a few years ago a friend decided she would use one too. she didn't like the smelly gas one. Some of us are trying to have clean air. MB

I have one and we use it, we also use our electric cause the blades on the push majorly need sharpened. Uga bug.

I love it, Alison! Keep on using it. When I was a little girl, that's all my dad had to cut the grass with. I loved the whooshing sound of the blades and the smell of fresh cut grass. Hooray for you! :D
