Posted - May 21 2007 : 11:50:47 AM My very first and oh so fabulous garden! I planted my garden!! I knew you would all be so proud of me, so I had to post. It was deathly hot a week ago saturday when I planted it but it was so worth it. I don't know how well it will do, it is my first year, but I was just excited to have a garden, such an accomplishment for me...
I posted pictures on my blog at my website... just go to: www.littlegreendesigns.com and click on journal in the left hand column and there the pictures are!! I am so excited, I will let you know how it goes throughout the summer...

Posted - May 21 2007 : 4:17:54 PM Nice going! I have all my overgrown starter trays ready to go in the ground...I keep procrastinating...good thing too since we are suppose to get another frost tonight gosh dang mountain air!!
I tilled over a perenial bed to extend my veggies and the friggin perenials are allready growing back....now we are going to have to till it again. If I had planned ahead I could have thrown some plastic sheeting over it last fall and this wouldn't be a issue or not as much of one anyway....why oh why do I always do everything the hard way ![](icons/icon_smile_shock.gif) |

Posted - May 21 2007 : 4:02:32 PM Congrats on your first garden! Gardens are wonderful things for the soul. I love going out and fighting my battle against the weeds and seeing my plants flourish. It feels so good to be growing something that will nourish us. I think that we are meant to have gardens. There is something so natural about growing food to put on the table.

Posted - May 21 2007 : 12:48:56 PM How great! It feels really good, doesn't it? I'd really wanted a garden for so long, and wasn't too sure about my "vege prowess"...flowers, I do pretty well, so I know what you mean about a black thumb. I think my luck maybe turning, so your's surely can too!
DH made me an 8 x 8 raised bed and our potatoes are flowering, carrots are coming up, peas are looking lovely and green beans, too. I wish you much success with your lovely plants--they become just like children!
