It's been oh so quiet here. I've been busy with teaching, taking care of some things for my mil's estate, getting some spring cleaning done, etc. I hope everyone is doing well and just a bit busy.

Spring cleaning here too. Organized 8 drawers of fabric, made several quilt tops for charity, hired a cleaning lady to do the floors and bathroom as I just can't do it myself anymore. She can do in two hours what it takes me three days to do. Walking lightly on the earth.

Working on finding a more efficient crafting/sewing area. Decluttering it and also the storage room is on my agenda.

It's a full time job anymore. My goal once again is to get the patio cleaned up so I can enjoy it.

JT repainted the deck last summer so it will be nice to not have to look at the chipped and peeling paint. I just need to downsize considerably in so many areas.

I really need to tackle my closet. I no longer have any need for a lot of clothes in there. Silk skirts anyone? I think all I need now are jeans, t-shirts, and flannel shirts.

I wear skirts alot but not silk. Just denim or dressy enough for church. Besides that it's t-shirts jeans and flannel shirts. So much in my closet doesn't fit anymore.

I guess the one nice thing about moving recently was that it gave us a good excuse to declutter. It's funny how you can open a box & wonder to yourself "why did I keep this?". I think our tastes & priorities naturally change over the course of our lives & it's healthy to have a declutter season now & then. I have read that by physically decluttering, it can help us to mentally declutter aswell.
Happy spring cleaning, ladies! (or autumn cleaning as is the case here in Australia).

I had started my spring cleaning before our trip but now have to finish what I started!! Cindy, you hit the nail on the head with the process leading to our recognition that some of our tests and priorities have changed. I was amazed how easy it was for me to forward on many things I have gathered over the years that have been stored in boxes. When opened they were still in great shape but no longer needed. I have moved them on to favorite thrift stores and I hope the new owners enjoy them as I did in the past.
