Our newest grandson's 3rd birthday is in February and my DIL's birthday, too.

February is a happy month, with Valentine's Day, too!

I have grandsons with birthdays on the 14th and 15th. One lives in Yosemite and the other has never been there so we're going on a road trip.

I didn't mention before that we'd made a trip to PA to see mil. She's not doing well. We got home and she ended up in the ER with a uti and pneumonia. She was there about a week. They put in a feeding tube as she can no longer swallow. I think with Alzheimers that part of the brain that controls that function has made her forget how. Anyway she got home and she was there 4 days and she is back in again. Seems maybe there was too much on her stomach and it was causing it to come up ans she couldn't cough it up so they are taking care of that. Could be sil needs some help on a feeding schedule and how much to do at a certain time. It can be tricky.
I didn't mean to get long winded but have been busy and wanted to let you know why I haven't been here.

Denise so sorry to hear about your mil. I too have been dealing with my 98 year old grandfather for the last few months. Had to put him in a nursing home. It has been a little tough.

We are trying to avoid that if it's at all possible Sherry. It's so hard to know what to do for them.

Thank you. She is not doing good at all as far as being more cognizant. She sleeps mostly.

Denisee, I am sorry to hear about your MIL situation. It is very hard to fix what age is doing inside a person. Some of the efforts prolong their lives but it is tough to return the quality of their lives. Aging is hard to watch and it is difficult for any patient in those situations. Sending you my prayers that your MIL can have more quality time to enjoy her family.

Winnie,
I don't know if we would have made this decision but she has a living will. Then again the alternative was not something we would have wanted for her.

Sherry, thank you for the sweet hearts! I can't wait until spring to plant the one, and I'll use the sponge heart for my facials.
