Good morning to all our Wildflowers!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas - we've spent our days out at my dad's so we are enjoying a quiet morning here at home with coffee, biscotti and our Christmas lights twinkling.
It will be in the 80's here today so we are headed out to the National Seashore later this afternoon. My dad, son and son-in-law went fishing yesterday afternoon so all of us girls hung out on my dad's back porch cross stitching and playing.
Hope your weekend includes some time to just enjoy now that the hustle and bustle have calmed down a little.

It's been so foggy and humid here - just almost yucky with it. We have a new bridge between our house and our dad's and it's lit up green for Christmas. The fog blowing through the bridge structure almost looks like something from a science fiction movie.
We have a small front blowing through Sunday that should dry us up a little and drop the temperatures a bit.
Definitely not Christmas weather! |

I love picturing Area 52 in between your properties. The atmospheric river is running here in SoCal -- I went for a jog this morning in penance for lots of eggnog and popcorn yesterday and marveled at this fleece pullover that predates my marriage and despite getting washed weekly still keeps me dry in the rain. Is anyone here big on New Years resolution reboots? I've mellowed out about making grand plans but have thinking a lot about thoughtful consumption and trying to get the cost/use of my purchases under $1. And of course, getting excited about what sisterhood badges Fallon and I will work on this year.
Hope everyone is feeling abundantly blessed! |

46 here this mornIng and rainy, but that’s fine. I will be spending all day in my craft room. It has been neglected this past month and I miss it. Happy Weekend Wildflowers. |

| Chris - can you explain the cost/use under $1 thing? I'm curious what you're talking about. I usually pick a word for the new year and try to apply it to all areas of my life. For 2026 it's going to sound terrible, but the word is "me". I'm kind of burnt out from doing so much for others and I'm not getting much of my things done. So for 2026 I'm going to not be selfish exactly, but try to balance better and not forget about me. |

| Good for you Heather, we always need to take time for ourselves or we won’t be good for anyone or anything else. Time to rejuvenate, relax and do things that make you happy is not selfish it is very much needed to be better versions of ourselves. So enjoy taking care of you Too in the new year you deserve it:-) |

"Me" is a great mantra, Heather-- fill your bucket first so you can fill others later.
Cost per use -- for durable things on my wishlist, I'm thinking hard about how often the thing will realistically get used and only buying if I can plausibly say their cost/use might get down under $1 some day. Sometimes getting a higher quality version is worthwhile because it will have a longer usable life. Sometimes if I have something that already does the job, do I really need a second one? If there is a worthwhile resale market, maybe I can find it preowned to reduce the cost per use.
i.e. Vitamix blender, InstantPot, other kitchen appliance -- could I see myself using this daily/weekly for several years? Books- could I see myself rereading this a couple times? Clothes-- does this fit flatteringly, feel comfortable, have care instructions I can handle, and work with enough of the rest of my wardrobe that I could wear it regularly?
$1 is a pretty arbitrary benchmark though, and I am thinking things like those $$$$ tractor tires might never achieve that but would still be worthwhile investments...
