First I want to say thank you again for the fabric, ribbon, ornaments, etc. that I have already received. I appreciate you all so much!!!

I can't believe it's getting to be that time of year again, already! This year is just flying by! Anyway, I'm having a colorstreet party again to get some discounted nail sets to put in the blessing bags. The Halloween is still available and the Thanksgiving ones just came out. Christmas will be released soon. If you're interested in helping me out here's the link to the party:

For our new wildflowers that have no idea what I'm talking about:
I put together bags and give them to the crisis center in town to pass out at Christmas. I sew the bags and put in various things to let the ladies that are facing tough times know that someone is still thinking of them. Last year we put together 60 bags. 25 for adult ladies, 25 for kids, and 10 for teenagers. I put a nail set in each of the adult bags. Every purchase earns me rewards to get some free/discounted nail sets. If you have any questions let me know, but I promise there is no pressure and I will not pester anyone about it. I will be posting on the main forum too but I usually don't get any response there.

Thank you for the context! What an amazing project for your community. I didn't know nail polish could go on as a strip, you've tried? Are happy with the result? Do they work on toes?

Yes, Yes, and Yes LOL! I have tried them and use them regularly. They last a lot longer than regular nail polish for me on the farm. I wear them on my toes too - they have some pedicure ones if you prefer. I keep my nails kind of short so I can get my hands and toes done a couple times with each package. I cut them in half rather than file them off and use the left over length for my little toes. My big toes get the biggest one in the package. If you iron the package closed you can use the rest later. They dry out if you leave them open and then don't stick.

The Christmas nail designs are now available.

I forgot to mention that they also have make up - I have only tried the tinted lip balm and mascara. I like both, but I do not wear make up enough to justify buying anything else to try. They also have other manicure and pedicure type stuff. I have tried and LOVE the heal balm and foot file that come in the pedi care bundle (or can be bought separately) . The hand lotion is also really nice.

Just in case anyone was thinking of ordering any of the Hollywood Noir nail strips - a little birdie told me they will be BOGO free Oct 31 - Nov 13. I believe it's a while supplies last thing.

Hi Heather :)

I always love to send a little something that can be included in your bags. Is it too late to send some goodies in the next week or two?

I would greatly appreciate anything you want to send Laura. I'm trying to get them together to take in the beginning of December so it's not too late at all. Thanks!!!

I always put in a bar of my homemade soap, hot chocolate, and a candy cane. The rest varies from year to year depending on what supplies and time I have and what other people send. This year I crocheted washcloths and painted some little wooden ornaments. In the past there were ornaments, coasters, hand made cards, tissue holders for the little packs of tissues, lip balm, lotion, tea, fingerless mittens and ear warmers, socks, etc. The kid bags have coloring books, cow erasers, pencils, stickers, hot chocolate, candy canes, snowflake or tree soap, and this year they get a washcloth too. Last year was the first time I did some older kid bags. Those had soap, hot chocolate, candy canes, friendship bracelets, lotion or axe body spray (I did some for boys and some for girls) a dice or card game, and a walmart gift card.

Heather, do you make up the bags yourself and drop off at the center? Our center has a wishlist of things. It would be great to do this and add some Christmas goodies. How big are the bags you make?

I'm thinking these would be an excellent thing to do with the grands in the afternoon when they come over for Thanksgiving.

I do make the bags. They vary in size depending on what fabric pieces I have. Roughly, I use 2 10 inch squares and cut 1 inch out of each bottom corner to miter the corners (helps the bags stand up and be filled easier but isn't necessary) then fold over a little bit at the top. I use ribbon for handles. Sometimes one handle on each side, sometimes one thicker piece of ribbon going from one side to the next making just one handle. I bet your grandkids would love doing this!
