This is the Island Bay Logging Cargo Ship from Hong Kong. It is Massive! I am obsessed with these huge Cargo ships from other countries with the beautiful names. I keep track of them all and follow them online. We enjoy watching them load the logs in the ships, it takes about a week and is quite a feat! Just Amazing!’

Oh how I love this photo of Wanda Sue, she’s so darn cute. Going back and forth from SC to NC they saw this street sign that says Coos Bay Road. So they stopped one day and Bentley took the photo of Wanda Sue pointing out the sign for me. We tried to figure out how it got to be named after my city as there is not another Coos Bay in the United States. Wand Sue thought someone moved there from Coos Bay and they owned the property and the road and called it Coos Bay Rd. They probably loved Coos Bay. Sounds good to me.
Thank you again Wanda Sue for the Awesome photo!

Another Coos Bay? What a small world! She does look so mischievous in that shot... And Wally looks like he wouldn't be out of place hanging out at a sports bar with a pose like that. I love that there is a forest as the background of the logging ship photo and I bet those foreground pylons with the white caps that underscore the boat name and match its upperdecks are timber too, it comes full circle!

I love seeing a little window into your worlds through these pictures!

Isn't it funny how connected we are now. If it wasn't for MJFarm Wanda Sue probably wouldn't even have noticed that road name. All the time I see things or hear things and think of a farmsister.

Wildflowers I would like you to meet George My Chimpanzee Friend. I first met George at the West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon, Oregon. George greeted guests as soon as you came into the park. George was a hoot, sticking his tongue out and mimicking everything you did. George was very lonely and not take care of, none of the over 300 animals in the park were. Unbeknownst to anyone the safari was being watched for over year. Finally it was raided in May and all animals were rescued and sent to sanctuary’s across the United States. The things that were found were horrific! George was lucky enough to be rescued by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest in Washington State. George is now living his best being a Chimp interacting with other Chimps in the Sanctuary. George goes outside now and feels the grass under in feet and the breeze through his fur.
George is eating healthy and is very happy. They have a blog and I am able to watch George and the other Chimps living their best lives. I hope that the guy who ran the place is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. For his mistreatment of the animals, making and selling Meth at the facility among other things.
The first photo of George is when he was rescued in May, the second photo is from this week. I cannot wait to see George when he sees Snow for the first time. I pray that he lives a very long life:-)

What a photogenic guy! I am grateful sanctuaries exist for cases like George's, hoping he makes a lot of new friends. In learning about Jane Gooddall, Fallon and I came across an organization that accredits zoos that meet certain animal welfare requirements. https://www.aza.org/find-a-zoo-or-aquarium We noticed our sweet little local zoo wasn't on the list, contacted its director who said they were modernizing to meet new standards and checking back this morning, they are back on the list!

Beautiful! Did you get this with a phone camera or a fancy one? I love how focused the petals are and how blurry you got the background

My last photo is my Rosemary plant. The special thing about it is the beaded name tag that Wanda Sue made me.

Oof! We've been out of town and I missed this in catching up. I can go but probably won't start posting until this coming Saturday, if that's OK? Also OK if Jeanette wants to go first!

But first, coffee! [1-3]

My everyday rig as the solo coffee drinker in our immediate family. Collapsible silicone camping pour over into a mason jar laced with creatine because I need all the strength I can get. I love sourcing from a local roaster that buys small batch but can't taste the difference between different countries of origin.

Father in law (Grand dude) and his wife sometimes sleep over and work on house renovation/woodworking projects. I have never seen Grand dude drink water; just these massive 10 cup coffee pots of Folger's that he can easily finish himself but is equally happy to share.

Mother in law (Mema) is the designer of the lot. Grand dude brews this because at first, I thought this approach to coffee was far too precious and I would not treat it with sufficient reverence. Even so, I must admit Moka is the most handsome rig of the bunch and I am just a smidge envious of the tradition of sharing a couple shots of stimulants with your best friend to start the day.

Cats [4-5]

But I can't dither over coffee too long because the cats are waiting. This is the usual view out the window by our backdoor. Panda the cat perched on the fence, peering in at me.

This is Paws/Pause, mom of Panda. A few years ago, fresh off my own misadventures in breastfeeding, I found this emaciated brown point cat with piercing blue eyes desperately licking our garden irrigation bubblers in the middle of a heat wave. I know that thirst. That mewing I heard through the wall at the kitchen sink. So then I'm buying wet kitten food by the palette and trying to entice this feral cat and kittens into pet carriers. 4 months in, I lucked out and managed to kick the carrier doors shut just in time to shepherd Pause and Panda to their spay appointments. Feeling guilty about this betrayal, they enjoy a twice a day kibble pension for as long as they show up to claim it.
