Yes Wildflowers it is getting close, HaLLoWeEn, it will be here in 91 days. Whoop, Whoop!

So, I want to start my Halloween Swap now which gives us all plenty of time to prepare hee, hee! 1 partner each. You may send anything you wish to your partner as well as a favorite recipe for the season.

Sign ups start August 1 and will close Sept 30th and I will post partners on Oct. 1st.

And I want to have a Halloween Give Away, but for this one I will pick 1 set of partners. So, I will send fun goodies to each partner.

I was wondering if you would like to share 1 thing about Halloween that you as a child did not like and maybe still do not!

So I will start, I dislike very much Haunted Houses and have since I was about 12 years old. Not because I am scared of them. I went to one in our neighborhood and for some reason the folks who had the haunted house and their helpers could not keep their hands to themselves. Why is that? So it has been 58 years since I have been to one. And I will say I really miss them as they are part of the Halloween experience. But, I do not like being touched. Now we have a Raceway here and they do a car show on Halloween and they have Haunted Woods that you can walk through. And they have rules, the 1st rule is no touching by staff or patrons. So maybe I might enjoy that one if Tom or Kent took me. I will let you know if I go.
Who’s next?

You can tell your partner your likes and dislikes to help them with your treasures, this is all about fun and cool give away!

I hope Heather and Krista you decide to join the swap:-)

Count me in on the swap Debbie.
I agree with you about Haunted Houses. I had a bad experience as a pre-teen. A big group of friends decided to go to one in Charlotte, that was in an abandoned Victorian house. It was a perfect setting, and decorated so good. It was sponsored by a charity group to raise money. The characters didn’t touch, but would jump out at you unexpectedly. Well we were at a standstill on a flight of stairs, and I was halfway up. Wouldn’t you know, they had cut out a door in the wall and a goblin opened and yelled right beside me! I was caught totally off guard, screamed and jumped back, which caused a domino effect. A pile of teenagers fell down the steps. They had to stop and turn on all the lights so we could untangle ourselves and find our purses and belongings. Talk about embarrassing, that did it for me!!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

That is really a funny story Wanda Sue. But, you girls could have been hurt. I do not like it either when they jump out at you and scare the heck out of you.
Don’t you just love remembering things from our youth? Too fun!

Count me in for the swap!

Hmm, jump-scare and grabby haunted houses would be a pass for me as well. Growing up in Minnesota, I remember the trickiest thing being finding a good yet cozy trick-or-treat costume. The ones sized for teen girls/adults were often skimpy and my teeth would be chattering wading through early snow.

I'm going to wait until it gets closer to decide on the swap.

We didn't do much for Halloween besides dressing up and trick or treating so I don't have anything that really scared me or I didn't like. I do remember when I was little that I hated the way my parents made us (me and my 3 siblings) put all our candy together and then we had take turns picking a piece or 2 to eat. I didn't always get the "good candy" that was in my bag, LOL!

I don't know if I will do the swap just yet, but I have always hated scary Halloween. From a young child my mom would watch scary movies and they frightened me. I absolutely hate clowns, haunted houses, scary movies, corn mazes at night or anything else that can be associated with scary Halloween. I like cute Halloween lol. If it's good for a toddler then I am good with it lol.

Count me in!! :)

NOTHING scary…that means movies, hunted houses, people jumping out, chasing, costumes…I remember the smell of my vinyl costumes and those plastic masks that would fill with condensation and had tiny eye holes so one couldn’t see!! :) lol

Hi Debbie, I would like to join, please. Thank you!

We would just trick or treat when we were kids and as a family. During junior highschool, we got to wear our costumes to school, which was fun for the day. My girlfriend and I snuck out one time and soaped a few neighbors windows. Shame on us. Only did that once! Since having children of my own, when my boys were small, we would order a jackolatern pizza from papa murphys, have pizza, get ready and go trick or treating around our block. One year, my oldest was maybe 6 years old, my youngest maybe 2, still in the stroller, one neighbor answered the door drunk, stumbling and half naked, no shirt, no socks, shorts that were extra huge on him and no skibbies, he could barely keep his pants up when he answered the door. My son just looked at me like: What the heck, mama!? Do I even say trick or treat!? We never trick or treated at that house again. That same year, we were close to home and finishing our going around our block and a few houses down, when he rang the door bell, the front door flew open and the cowardly lion jumped out. That was the funniest thing ever! Unfortunately, it scared the you know what our of my son, then he warmed up to the cowardly lion and was okay with it. That's still a halloween we haven't forgotten and still talk about once in a while. Now, we sport our Hubey Halloween tshirts and watch the movie with pizza and snacks!!

Oh, I'd take the cowardly lion over door #1! Wasn't aware of Hubie Halloween but that is definitely going on our watchlist this fall!

Speaking of bats, there is one in our house right now, 8:30 pm, it came in when we were letting Bella out. Tom and Kent are working on steering him to the downstairs and out the door. Yes, he is upstairs where are bedrooms are. LOL!!
