Hello All!
I am Jeanette. My hubby Mike and I have been married shy of 37 years. I am a Canadian mom of 5 and Grammy to 8. Thank-you for all of your welcoming notes. I look forward to participating in this wonderful bunch and getting to know you.
I am only and hour and 45 mins from the US border and love to head south to go to Hobby Lobby and Cracker Barrel (Almond crusted Catfish with Okra and Collard Greens-oh my!)! Oh....and to Buckees! You Americans are spoiled with selection that we don't have up North of the border!
One of our daughter's went to university in Lynchburg, VA and then married a Floridan...we have two grandsons who are AmeriCanadian. She worked as a costume buyer for Disney before Covid and now works for Magnolia, based in Waco, TX. We also adopted our youngest from Louisiana when he was 6 days old-he's now almost 25. The USA is near and dear to our hearts for many reasons :0)
Thank-you, again, for opening your Henhouse door to me!

Hello Jeanette, so very glad you have joined our Wildflowers HH. WOW, 5 children and 8 grandchildren, what wonderful blessings! Funny you should mention Hobby Lobby, Cracker Barrel
and Buc-ee’s. Those are three of my favorite places. You’re correct, here in the US, we do take so much for granted. Looking forward to getting to know you better. WELCOME!!

Welcome to the group Jeanette! So nice to have you here. I have a sister in law and two nieces there in New Castle. So we've been to Canada often but not recently. I am a big fan of Hobby Lobby. We have one ten minutes from us and our son who lives in NJ, is a manager and the bookkeeper for one of the stores there. I hope you will enjoy it here!

Denise,
Oh, my, what a small world! NewCastle is a quaint little island. We have gone there for picnics. I am hoping to head to Montana this summer to get a Hobby Lobby fix-I would be broke if it was located 10 mins away from me! Neat that you have family that works for one of the stores. Have a great day!

And I love that you are a "Grammy", as well. I am also called Grammy-I told my kiddos that I wanted to be called that because, every grandchild born would be like getting my own "Grammy Award! LOL

Julie,
Thank-you for the warm welcome. I look forward to getting to know you, as well. Our family have been through the Dakota's on a camping trail from Alberta to Atlanta, but I am afraid it was a lot of interstate driving...but was very pretty.

Jeanette,
My sister in law has a place on Rice Lake that we've all stayed in. It's so beautiful there. My brother passed away last year and we haven't been there in years but would love to go for a visit again. Hoping when my niece gets married we can go.

Good morning, Jeanette! I have been in Montana for the past couple of weeks and just got back and am now getting caught back up with what everyone is doing. I am so glad that you have joined us and am very excited to get to know you!
I just googled Nanton, AB. We took an anniversary trip a few years ago, coming north from Montana into the Cranbrook area and spent the night there before heading to Jasper and Lake Louise. So we were just west of you :) What beautiful country!!! Oh my goodness! My mom still talks about her trip to Calgary and her very favorite part was the time that they spent in High River. She said she could have spent ALL of her time there, she loved it so much!
Where to you enter the states when you come into Montana? I had to laugh when you said you needed a Hobby Lobby fix! haha I was thinking I needed to get my husband to drive me to Kalispell so that I could go to that one while I was there but decided to just order online. Not as much fun but very fast shipping!
Thank you for joining us!

Denise,
I had to look up Rice Lake. It looks beautiful. It is about 33 hours to the east of where I live. I am sorry about your brother-in-law. I do hope that you are able to return for a visit to the lake, soon. It does sound like a pretty place for your niece to have a wedding! Thank-you for introducing me to Rice Lake!

Debbie Klann,
Welcome home! Thank-you for the warm welcome. I hope that you had a great holiday! My niece was married in Cranbrook last summer. LOL. Jasper and Lake Louise are AMAZING places to go for an anniversary trip. Did you go to Banff, as well-another beautiful "Rockies" town. Please tell me what your mom loved so much about High River-we lived there for over 6 years...and went though the flood of 2013, there. 5 weeks before we were able to get back into our house and start the clean-up. A memory, for sure, as it was on our daughter's graduation day! When we enter the US, we usually go through SweetGrass, Montana. It is about a 2 1/2 drive from us. Yes, Kalispell is the Hobby Lobby location, I would be beetle-juicing for! Hopefully before the fall.
