(I'm not sure why these top two pictures loaded where they did - description for the quilt square is below.)

Okay - since you asked :) Heather - here's what I've been up to lately.

Here's a baby quilt top that I just finished working on

We lost one of our quilty friends a few years ago. Melody would have her mom embroider beautiful designs for future great grandchildren quilts and Melody would make them into quilts. Now that she's gone, another friend and I have taken on the tradition in her memory. Since there is a new great grandbaby on the way, I took the sweet little stitches and turned it into a quilt top and my friend will do the machine quilting. This is the second quilt that we have done together.

Here are some of my cross stitch finishes - a few friends got together with our boxes of completed cross stitch projects and fully finished them.

I am working on annual ornaments for Caroline and the little Santa will be her 2022 ornament.

My son turned the little wooden cup and he was going to throw it out because of it's raw edge but when I saw it I just knew I'd turn it into a pincushion.

My friend and I started a quilt project called Summer Moon. It's a sampler quilt with three sizes of each block. Ours will be very different because I'm following Moda's take on it with Halloween fabrics called Midnight Moon. Can't wait to see how it turns out - I already love the first block. This is the 8" block - now I've got to stitch up the two smaller sizes!

Thanks for letting me share!

Laura

WOW! What great things you've been creating! I especially like the Christmas cookie ornament. And what a wonderful thing for you to continue in your friend's memory. Thanks so much for sharing. Can't wait to see the rest of your blocks. And here I thought I was doing good LOL! - I have 10 blessing bags sewn and later today I'll have an Easter table runner done.

Laura, your stitching is beautiful! :) Wow! You have been very busy! Good for you! :) I need to get going on some of my unfinished projects! I have a wondering though…IF I have everything I need for a project BUT I haven’t started it, does that mean it’s a ufo? I say no because I haven’t even started it yet! LOL!! :)

I have so many "plans" that I don't dare count those as UFOs!

I know I've mentioned Kate at the Last Homely House on YouTube. Her mantra for 2025 is Use What You Have. Her goal is to use the supplies she already has this year for crafting. I've taken that on and my goal is to work on finishing up projects and starting those beautiful things I've just been collecting.

I know I will do some shopping as my sister and I have a couple fun trips planned for this year that of course will require some stash enhancement. But for the most part - it's really encouraged me to start shopping our sewing room first.

I made this and printed it out to display in my planner and our house to remind me.

For me, it depends on how much I want to start the project LOL! If I'm supposed to be working on the UFO's before I start anything new I might, maybe, kind of call it a UFO and do it :)

I've made it a goal to use my stashes this year too. There's a lot of things that have been waiting a few year to be used - this is going to be their year to shine LOL!

Yes this is the year to “use what I have” instead of buying more. I’m out of room, so I need to create all of these ideas I have been holding onto. Then I can enhance my stash.

Laura, I just love your "Lucky" cross stitch. This really encourages me to get moving. So many things I need to work on but I have a couple to finish up for badges then I can get to work on downsizing some of my stash. I've never heard of stash enhancement either. Cute. I might need to use that when hubby and I go to Lancaster this year. Lol
