Hard to believe January is gone but here we are welcoming in a new month. I hope February is bit brighter than January. I always have a few days of depression in January every year.
So here's to a better month ahead.

Denise -- January is just a depressing month. Holidays are over, it's dark and cold, and it takes forever to be over. I look upon January and February as hibernation time.
Full spectrum lightbulbs help a little bit, as does garden catalogs. Or think of our Australian farm sister enjoying summer.

February has never been too bad as we have birthdays all through the month. I do at times struggle with being alone so much of the time. That is one reason I took on teaching Wednesday nights. Weekends are busy but I get bored during the week. I never like to say I am bored because my mom used to say, "boredom is lack of creativity ". Lol! Has stuck with me all these years.i think does have to do with the lack of sunshine for so long. I take extra vitamin D3 during the winter months.

I also learned not to say I'm bored around my mother. She would always say "If you're bored I can find something for you to do." And that something would be something like washing windows or folding clothes. My kids also learned the same way. It's funny how we pass these things on.

Then there was the really bad one: "Stop that crying or I'll give you something to really cry about"

Ha ha! So true.

We have a restaurant here called Mama's Daughters. On the walls of each of their locations are ALL the old phrases that we heard from our mothers. Next time we go I will try to take a picture of all of them. I know you will recognize them.

Thanks Karen! I did JT and I went out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. We celebrated with family on Sunday but yesterday was his birthday and he wanted to go to his favorite eating place.

It was! We found this great Mexican restaurant. I've never been much of a fan until we found this little place. The owner is awesome and we love hearing about his trips back home. Need to work on my 3rd language though. Lol.

Spent yesterday in the craft room. Today I am working on a swap gift.
