I can hardly believe we are starting the 7th month of the year already. Seems the days have flown by on speedy wings.
I hope we have a mild summer though I know some places are already experiencing extreme temperatures. In a month the kids will begin to get ready for school to start. Still seems odd they start in August. We always started the Wednesday after labor day. I'd look forward to September when we get the very hot days but I don't like to rush time on anymore.
It goes by quick enough on its own. Just
enjoying each day I am blessed to have. Do you have any specials plans for summer?
We will start our VBS next week. It is in the evenings which tires me out but everyone really enjoys it. Most churches here do their's in the mornings which is more convenient for most.
Wishing you all a wonderful month a fantastic 4th!

This was written by a fb friend.

July brings a joy all its own. Despite the intense heat and humidity, we reap the abundant benefits of healthy gardens, miles of newly formed hay bales, and the sounds of the tractors out in the fields. We see kids on tire swings, splashing in wading pools, and eating ice cream in a rush before it melts. We harvest our first batch of honey from the hives and have bowls of fresh blueberries for breakfast. We travel to mountains and beaches, with luggage in tow, so we can have a vacation from the demands of the working life. We celebrate the red, white, and blue, and hang out our flags to show our patriotism.

Our schools always started the day after Labor Day; I can't begin to keep up with them now. We usually started off on whatever vacation we were going on the next week. Sometimes it was to grandparents in Oklahoma, sometimes to Mexico, Canada, or anywhere else our 1950 Plymouth and 18 foot trailer would take us. Great memories now, even the food poisoning in Yellowstone and my sister having her appendix removed in a Mexican maternity hospital.

Same for us, Judith, we started the day after Labor Day. We usually went on a weeklong vacation whenever my parents got their vacation scheduled -usually sometime in August. Since August was my birthday month, we often celebrated my birthday someplace besides home.

Wow! Those were some memories, Judith.

My plans for the summer are to avoid the heat. The heat seems so oppressive this year. I try and stay home during the summer and get caught up on house things. I am very behind! I definitely agree, while I don't want to rush the days anymore I do so enjoy the spring and fall. Where I live in North Carolina I can be at the beach in 3.5 hours or the mountains in 1.5. My husband and I did take a quick trip to the mountains last weekend, Blowing Rock and Boone where the temps were 10 degrees cooler.

Happy July. It has been so cool here this year, I am hoping and looking forward to some warm days. We have only had a few days that got close to 80.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

A lovely summer porch. I can just imagine sitting there feeling the beautiful summer breeze.

Have a wonderful summer. It's so so hot here in Texas. The schools around here start in mid-August. When my children were in school They started the day after Labor Day. I'm just staying home this summer and enjoying the outside (early/ late) in the day and family.

Denise, I love that porch picture too. So peaceful and bright for Summer. We are having a lot of hot days with the heat index up to 105 frequently. It is beyond miserable already and every day is about the same . We are finally getting those afternoon rain showers so we are glad about that. The plants really do prefer their water from the sky instead of a hose.

Like many of you, we never started fall semester at school until after Labor Day. Now our schools are starting as early as August 10th.

Beautiful porch.

We ought a large 12’x14’ gazebo Wd and helpers Will put up after the fence is put up on Friday. I know we will enjoy having a place to sit outside when it is a not so hot day. lol! Unfortunately, in the next two Months we will not be getting very many of those. Where is your phone?

Porch picture is so pretty. I'm having to water my potted plants every night. 112 today. I wish we would get the afternoon showers; we are bone dry and tomorrow's fireworks will undoubtedly bring more fires.

I, too, love the porch picture. I would love to have some lemonade and snuggle that adorable kitty!

Hot here too. And dry, so ditto to what you said, Judith. My hubby has an app that notifys him of fires in the area (for work) and it’s going off more than once a day. :(

Happy 4th of July to all! Parades in several of the small towns around us today. It is just so very hot, don't know how much we will be able to do. Some grandbabies coming to love on so that will be fun! I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Karen -- I have that app too. It went off for 7 or 8 fires yesterday in our area. I feel so sorry for the firefighters.

Always happy to see happy bees. I have a mason bee house; when is the best time to out it out?
It cooled down to 103 today. Still wore me out. didn't feel much different than 110 yesterday.

The Bumblebees seem to be most noticed inner yard lately as they go from flower to flower. I always enjoy seeing and hearing them do their work . There is something calming about the "busy bees" !!

Love the picture. I remember riding my bicycle all over the place. I put many, many miles on my bike until I finally got my drivers license at age 20 and engaged. Dad had a thing about girls driving, or maybe it was just me as little sister got her license when she was 16. It's no fun being the oldest sometimes :-/
