I hope you all like the cookies!

It's been a bit crazy here. Here's a little glimpse:

This is ornery baby #1 for the story

This is sweet baby #2 for the story

And this big boy is #3 (the other 2 are also boys)

Baby #1 was born a few days ago. We moved him to a new pen so that the mama of baby #2 could be in the calving pen to have her baby. We had to assist her a little bit before we came in for the evening so we knew all was well when we went to bed. The next morning (yesterday) we knew we'd need a little extra time to get the mama back in with the milking cows and milk her for the very first time. What we didn't plan was that baby #3 would surprise us in the barn. We played musical cows and put baby #3 and mama into the pen to spend some time together. Nathan went to the next isle over to get the cows up for milking and said "there's another baby!" I said "WHAT!?!" No one else was close to having their baby yet. I went over to investigate and laughed. It wasn't a new baby. It was baby #1. He got out of his pen, went for a little walk and somehow got in the cow pen, found his mama, and was having some breakfast! So, we had to play musical calves and get everyone back where they were supposed to be. Then we had to hurry up and get the milking done. All before the milk truck came to pick up the milk at 8am!

Another baby bull this morning and there's a mama penned up because she looks like she's thinking about having her baby :)

Heather,
I have never even thought of putting strawberries into cookies! YUM! Thank-you for the recipe. I am a keto girl so I am going to replace the sugar and flour and see what I come up with! Thank-you, also for your "cow-tales". The pictures of those precious babies put a smile on my face and the adventures of who ends up in what stall, are priceless. I am giggling inside :0)

Karen,
You have such sweet Farmgirl Sisters with so many great ideas!
1) I have gone through these feelings and I have to agree that exercise is the number one thing that gives me purpose...purpose FOR ME. I also need a goal for that exercise as a motivator so I reward myself with something at the end of a goal (I like medals, so I actually entered online challenges for distances run or walked). YOU ARE WORTH IT.
2) It is hard when family members go through things. We, as mother's FEEL so much that what our kiddos go through affects us deeply. Praying and truly letting God handle your kiddos. It is hard to do because we, as mom's, are used to training our kiddos to do good/right BUT they have the freedom of choice, like we did at their age......Canadian Hugs!

Jeanette, you worded that advice to Karen beautifully. Something that I needed to hear this week. Thank you!
Karen, I hope that you're feeling more like yourself. I was thinking about you when I was out in my flowers the other day :)

How was your day, Karen? I was also thinking about you today and hoping that something made you giggle-something funny, something silly, a memory of something you did as a kid or young adult. I found out something silly about our daughter-in-law. She and her sister would wait until their parents were out and then they would walk their block......from fence-line to roof tops! Their goal was to do the entire block and not have anybody catch them. WHAT?!! Thought I would share that with you. Me- my girlfriend had a sleepover at my house and we decided to walk our small town...at about 2 am, after my parents fell asleep. We were both girl guides so we knew how to break branches and build a little 3 step ladder that would allow us to climb down out of my bedroom window without making any noise. Before bed, we set it up under the bedroom window. In the middle of the night, when my parents were asleep (my dad was snoring, so it had to be so!), we slowly opened the bedroom window and removed the screen to find the ladder was GONE! clearly my parents found it and got rid of it. At breakfast, the next morning, my girlfriend and I were very embarrassed because my parents knew of our plan. We ate without talking or making eye-contact with them. And thank goodness they didn't bring it up. THE END. Not quite as exciting as my daughter-in-law story but it makes me giggle that my girlfriend and I were soooo silly to leave the ladder set up. Clearly a life of crime was not for me. Night!

I love your stories Jeanette, thank you for sharing. Karen, I did want to share something with you too all my Wildflowers. I am working on my intermediate badge where I had to draw and paint 4 pictures. Well, I had two finished, and unsure where to go next. So I took My Neice Erin and myself to an art class yesterday. It was to paint a crow in the moonlight, now Erin is a pro (she’s younger) and I found out I am not an Abstract Painter. I am just a plain ole plain ole painter! And here it is! Oh but Karen and all Wildflowers I had so much fun, it filled me with so much Joy to do something out of my comfort zone! I cannot wait for the next class. Happy Canada Day and 4th of July week everyone.! I will be thinking of all of My Wildflowers.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Oh Debbie, your picture is beautiful!!! What a fun experience that must have been with your niece. I think you have truly found the artist inside of you that has just sprouted wings, and is ready to fly!

That is a beautiful crow! You have talent-if you didn't, then people would comment on the beautiful picture of your llama!

Your picture is fantastic! You know me and crows and I wouldn't say it if it wasn't so! I'm sure it was a fun time together.

Let’s Welcome July as we sip our sweet iced tea or lemonade on the porch.
Maybe share a summertime memory from your ‘neck of the woods’.
