Happy Saturday indeed. My gal friend and I went to a quilt show today and my grandson tagged along. I love seeing adult males who appreciate quilt shows.

Happy February everyone! This month will bring us Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, and the beginning of Lent as Easter comes at the end of March this year. A month full of celebrations with many different agendas, but also about love . I hope everyone has a great month ahead. We are already having our landscape move into early Spring . The Japanese Magnolias are in full bloom , azaleas are starting to open up, the Florida Red Maples are full of their red seed pods and these tiny red/pink flowers, and soon the Wild Plum tree is going to burst open. This past week, we had temps up to 70 for a few days and this week forecasts more of the same. for us here in North Florida, February is our transition into full Spring by the end of the month. It is the prettiest time of year and it rarely has the awful humidity and higher temps that make outside sort of miserable.

We have daffodils popping up here already. But we could have snow again from now until April.

We always loved coming to Florida in the springtime. We usually would visit my parents around my daughter's birthday that month. The weather was always so nice.

Happy February Ladies, hope y'all have a marvelous month full of love. Here in Texas I'm starting to see some Sping coming up in my front and back flower bed.

We have weeks of gray weather here but somehow the sun always shines on Groundhog Day so it's 6 more weeks of winter for us. Darn. It's raining here and the wind is blowing like crazy. I received a phone call that I won a basket at the quilt show so I need to drive 90 miles to pick it up. Hope I don't get blown off the road.

If spring means rain, rain, rain…then spring is here…it’s been raining for so long our wood fences are soaked…and water squishes when you walk. I’m ready for some sun to poke its head up and dry things out! :)

My goodies -- about 7 yards of black, white, and red fabric. And a panel.

This image brings back memories. We were taught that nothing was to be wasted or taken for granted. We saved string, yarn, buttons, fabric scraps, leftovers, empty jars, and anything for the compost pile. And it wasn't just our family. Lots of families saved things to be reused. The sight of a mason jar full of thread spools and buttons was not uncommon and it's still a reminder that every small thing has a purpose....even you and me.

Happy Tuesday!

While seeing all the quilts was fun what I enjoyed most was seeing old friends from my guild and classes that I hadn't seen since before covid. Lots and lots of hugs all around. Plus there was good stuff for lunch.
