Little corner of my world,
When evening comes we snuggle in.
We rest our weary hearts fireside
Where winter's snow cannot attend.

We say a prayer and eat warm food,
Prepared my mama's loving hand.
We gather round to fill the hours
Like a little ragtime band.

Tomorrow brings another day,
And days bring on the years.
But in my heart I'll still be there
Where memories cast out fears.

Written by a friend of mine.

Looks like many of you are going to get some very frigid weather over the next week. Take care and I hope none of you lose power. Keep us posted how it all goes.

We had snow fall again last night. Not much but it covered everything and made it all look fresh and clean. So pretty! But then I don't have to go out in it.

We have been having lots of soups this week. Mostly working on crafts when I get my household things done.

The grands had 2hr delays going back to school after the day off yesterday, due to the roads.

Have a great day today. Hope everyone is cozy.

We are having endless damp gray days. Yearning to see the sun again. Reminder to self: Remember this in July....

Even when we are longing for spring and the green, new life, I’m doing my best to hunker down and rest and reset during this season of winter. Just as the trees and flowers, we all need to time to rest before we continue to grow and learn! :)

Judith, you have a good point about when a new year should start. Perhaps, hundreds of years ago when civilizations used different calendars, the actual new year was closer to March than it is now?

We have had a lot of cloudy days and nights this month. There has been a lot of rainy periods which always messes with a nice clear night. I missed the full moon this month too.

Darlene, that is an interesting photo you took.

Calendars are an interesting subject. I did a quick research and found at least 8 calendar systems in use today. Some were created by the birthdate of their ruler, most are lunar systems, but it appears that Iran may have the only one that starts with Spring.

We woke to a few more inches of snow on the ground this morning. And it is still coming down! I wait all through Christmas for this. JT is off today due to closures. The grands are also off today. So today is an indoor day with crafting for swaps on my list of to do's. Enjoy your day whatever you may be doing!

So weird down here. Yesterday we hit 70 degree before a frigid front moved through. Today we barely made 50 and tonight it will be freezing. Next Thursday and Friday might be 80. Crazy for all the flowers and plants down here too.
