Mothers Day will be here soon and I was wondering what special plans your children/grandchildren have for you or how do each of you celebrate your Mothers!
Mothers have different traditions and surprises for their special day.
Kent usually gets me flowers #128144; or another special gift and we go the the beach now that we live in Oregon. When we lived in Colorado we use to pack a picnic lunch and head to the mountains for a hike! Then my guys would grill out for dinner, we’d hang out on the deck and just relax! Just a wonderful and special day!

Since my mom lives so far away I call her on Mother's day. I usually get her some mint meltaways from her favorite chocolate shop that's actually here in Ohio and give them to her when I see her. This year it's going to be a week early. Sometimes it's not until June. It all depends on my dad's racing schedule. For my mother in law that's just across the yard we usually get her something flower related (sometimes a hanging basket, sometimes a shepherds hook, sometimes a nice planter, etc) and have lunch together.
Denise - you might know of the chocolate shop. If not you should look it up LOL! It's Marie's candies in West Liberty. |

Heather, I've not heard of it but will look it up. Everyone around here seems to think Esther Price chocolate is the best but my husband and I don't care for it. It is expensive.
My mom has been gone 10 1/2 years now.
My kids usually have a dinner for us. Or JT takes me out and we go to their house after. |

My Mom has been gone 64 years, I was only 4 when she passed away and I still miss her everyday. Even though I was only 4 I remember things about her. I have her photos all over the house as I Always celebrate her!
That is me in the upper left corner, it was 1957. And there are a couple more.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom Debbie! That must have been tough. Big hug to you!!!
Denise - Marie's is expensive as well that's why it's a special treat not an all the time thing but we love it. The only thing I don't like is the raspberry truffles. Whatever flavoring they use is too fake tasting. The other truffles are amazing though! |

Debbie, I am so sorry to hear about your mother.
For Mother's Day I will typically crochet something or have my kids make something for my mother and mother in law. This year we are going to decorate pots and then put flowers in them. We will also go visit both of them on Mothers Day. As far as for me, we don't really celebrate anything. Sometimes the kids schools will have the kids make something for me but other than that it's just another day.

| Krista, that's how it was when our kids were young. My husband didn't do much for his mom when he was single except maybe a phone call. He was in the military, so when we got married that changed a bit. I was responsible for those things and I always made him pick his mom's card. We usually sent flowers or something to both moms. We are going to see his mom this year. It will be a few days early but I'm sure she won't care. Then we will be home for mother's day. Sorry for rambling on ladies. |

I am unable to post photos for the past couple of days.
But I wanted to wish all our Wildflowers a wonderfully, Fantastically Fun and Joyful weekend and Mothers Day with your families and friends. I hope the sun will shine on all of you as it will here, with beautiful warm weather.
Today my Son Kent will take me to the beach, my happy place, and out to lunch. I will think of all of you as I walk the beach with peace, joy and thankfulness. |
