| Happy September! I just noticed in a language arts lesson about Greek/Latin prefixes that sept = 7, oct = 8, nov = 9, dec=10 but the "brrr" months of September is the 9th month, October the 10th, and November the 11th, December the 12th. Why are they all 2 ahead of their name? Romans started their calendar year in March and marked each month with the new moon. This gave them 10 months and an unorganized 2-3 month winter they didn't keep track of because they weren't farming. Around 713 BC they added January and February. |

Oh now I would love to go to a Popcorn Festival . Popcorn my favorite food.
We have a Sunflower Festival and Harvest Festival this weekend. The season has begun!

Popcorn festival? Sunflower festival? What a concept! Count me in!
There is a big apple/harvest festival 100 miles away I am trying to convince my daughter she wants to do for her October birthday but I might have to file that away on the 'Empty Nester Bucket List' and settle for the local uPick pumpkin patch since she says she has been working on her "squats and hammies" and should be able to carry a lunker to the register this year.
But first the weekly farmer's market is calling my name. Happy Saturday, ladies! |
