What's your favorite food for Thanksgiving? For me, it's my mother in laws cranberry salad! It has cranberries, oranges, and sliced almonds. I LOVE that stuff. Not sure why we only have it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. |

That sounds really good! I don’t know why you couldn’t eat it during the rest of the year? Maybe with ham? I think my favorite Thanksgiving dish would be pumpkin pie:) |

Sounds delicious, Heather! Debbie, I love pumpkin pie! I’ve been know to make it in the summer time, even! Lol Favorite dish would be broccoli rice casserole. It has broccoli, rice, velveeta, and few other staples. Sooo good. :) |

My favorite growing up was the dressing/stuffing, whichever you want to call it. I loved drowning it with gravy. As an adult though, my sister-in-law introduced me to her cranberry relish. Now to me it’s the star of the show, lol. She would chop whole cranberries, pecans, apples, orange zest, sugar and a red jello. So delicious!! |

I have never had mincemeat pie before - is it actually meat?
Wanda - That relish sounds delicious! Do you eat it other times of the year?
Debbie - It's so good it doesn't even need the ham. I eat it for dessert sometimes LOL! We just never think about it except Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's the same with this bowtie pasta chicken salad thing she makes. It's delicious but it only gets made once or twice in the summer. |

Heather we always say”why do we only make this once a year”? Another year has passed and didn’t make it once, lol. Maybe it wouldn’t be as special if we had it more often. Then again, our stores only carry the whole cranberries this time of year, so there’s that. |

Mincemeat (my version anyway) is made with fruits. Originally I think it had meats and suet in it. I use Martha Stewart's mom's recipe and it is really yummy. I have found that the type of jarred mincemeat you buy makes a big difference in your pie. My favorite is Crosse & Blackwell.
