I know it's early but today was our towns Christmas open houses. They're actually all weekend but my mother in law hates crowds now (covid) so we went today. It was surprisingly busy. I think it's because today was sunny and 75 while tomorrow is supposed to rain with high winds (they're saying 50 mph!) It was a lot of fun and a great way to kick off the holiday season. I haven't started decorating yet but I've been working on gifts. Is anyone else starting to think a lot about Christmas?

That sounds like a fun way to kick off the holiday season!
I’ve been thinking about gift ideas for my family. What I need to do is write it down somewhere and hide it so nobody will find it….guess who that nobody will be??? Haha!
I think our wind and rain is headed your way!

One year I got my mom a book for Christmas and put it where I wouldn't loose it. I found it 2 years later!!!

Sometimes I write a list out in code or just the first letter so I don't forget but if someone sees it they'll have no idea.

I even told her about it and that I couldn't find it. When I did find it we laughed again :)

Good thing we went to town yesterday - this wind is CRAZY! It's only sprinkled so far and it's 70 degrees out but the wind will knock you off your feet if you're not careful! I don't think there will be many leaves left on the trees after today.

I swear I’m always thinking about Christmas! Lol. I have a Christmas notebook that I keep a card record with addresses, gift ideas, gifts purchased, etc. I love it. It keeps me sane and helps me remember things too. My favorite thing about it? After each Christmas I will write notes for the next year…like “need new outdoor lights” or “replace faux snow”, etc.

Did you make it Karen? I've been thinking of making an organizer that I can add/remove paper from each year but I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to do it LOL!

Heather, I did! I use the disk system for my Christmas binder (and my planner this year too). I love that I can take things out, add things, move ‘em around.
Debbie, thanks. It’s really the only way I know to keep track of everything.

I’ve been using it for years. The funny thing is that I have always written down all the gifts I have bought…even for my girls as they were growing up. The closed planner would sit on our coffee table or counter and they never looked inside. They both loved the surprise of the gifts. They are 32 and 30 and both still say that they never peeked! Lol

Karen - I'm not familiar with the disk system. Is that a brand name? It sounds like what I'm thinking I need :)

Heather, I apologize for the delayed response. I have out of town since Thursday at a crafting retreat.

Happy Planner is one company that does a disc system. Here is a link to their classic planners. https://thehappyplanner.com/collections/classic-and-skinny-classic-happy-planners

You can also find them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=arc+notebook&crid=250Q096W08FUL&sprefix=arc%2Caps%2C199&ref=nb_sb_ss_pltr-ranker-opsacceptance_2_3

Just search disc planners. :)

I can not wait for my sling to come off so I can start Christmas. I see the surgeon Dec. 9th, final check before I get my sling off. Woo, Hoo.
