I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can share what we've been doing. It doesn't have to be anything big. Maybe you enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch while the sun came up, maybe you watched a movie, maybe you're doing something fun with the kids/grandkids.....

I'll do a separate post to start it off :)

I harvested our grapes - best yield they've ever had I was told. I got a 5 gallon bucket of them that gave me 2 gallons of grape juice. I didn't know it was so much work! My potato masher was shooting the grapes out of the bowl rather then squishing them. So, I ended up using my fist. My knuckles were sore the next day. Now I see why they use their feet LOL!

While working on that I was dehydrating "pasture tea" - alfalfa and red clover from the pasture

Then a friend was kind enough to bring us some of their extra sweet corn

Not counting the ones we ate - there were 220 ears in there to get put into the freezer!!!

Then came the beans, peppers, and lemon balm

Saturday my best friend's daughter got married:

As soon as it was over it started pouring rain! They couldn't have timed it any better if they tried :)

I didn't get a picture of the tomatoes but yesterday was pizza sauce canning.

Now I'm working on crocheting a baby blanket for a shower this weekend. And getting the rest of my herbs dehydrated before I pick up the apples Saturday.

All that on top of the farm work. That's why I wasn't on here much :)

We have been picking Blackberries everyday and trying to figure out what to do with them all. So tomorrow my friend is coming over to pick some for her and her family. We will still have a lot more.
Just Amazing how many bushes we have.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

I'm happy to hear they're producing so well for you. Around here it varies from year to year based on the weather. This year they weren't so good. Even the ones by the garden were not very sweet. Have you put any in the freezer for later? I wonder if you could make some blackberry wine?

Yes, I will freeze some. Saturday morning I am fixing blackberry turn overs for breakfast. Umm, and I must look for a recipe for blackberry. Thank you for the idea.

Heather, all of that going and going and going of yours made me tired! Lol. Would you mind sharing your pizza sauce recipe?

Today my daughter and I went thrifting and out to lunch. We had a great time! While at lunch she was notified that her short-term teacher subbing job starts tomorrow at 8 am. I’m so happy to have had one last play date with her before school starts! :)

Thrifting and lunch sounds fun! I don't mind sharing recipes - unfortunately I don't have one for pizza sauce. I cheat and use these:

They taste pretty good and you don't have to boil down the tomatoes all day. I also tried the pasta sauce one this year.

Oh Karen I love going to thrift stores oh and Joanns. I went to Joanne’s today for fall and Halloween fabric and yarn. Wildflowers I had a full cart as you know I got a lot more than just fabric and yarn but I had fun! My hubby and I really love going to the thrift stores around here and a couple of wonderful antique shops downtown. Even though my honey is a trooper and we enjoy going together I miss my girlfriends in Colorado. Have not made any friends here yet. Not many houses in our little neighborhood as we are really rural.
But in due time. I am hoping to get a few things made before my shoulder surgery next month.
Will be so happy when the first surgery is over with.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do. Most people don’t like to thrift with me because, well, I’m a “digger”! Lol. I have to go up and down every aisle and touch almost everything in a bin! :) It takes a long time but the treasures are so worth it. Once you are healed up maybe we can plan something to meet somewhere in the middle and do some thrifting!!

Heather, I’m sorry. I must have read a different post about pizza sauce…but I’m gonna check out your way of doing things! Lol

Oh Karen and Debbie, I wish I lived close enough to go thrifting with y’all!
