I just read through the newsletter. Wonderful job Debbie F! And Debbie K - I love the old photos you have of your town, but I still can't get over the view from the tractor window!!!!! No wonder the farm is still in the family for 6 generations now. What an absolutely gorgeous view!!!! And what kind of planes from WWII are in the museum? There's a town near where my grandparents used to live that has an airport. It's small but there's a cafe and an aviation museum that's also putting together a B-17 bomber. From time to time we stop in and see the progress. A lot of WWII veterans stop in and see it and tell their stories. Wonderful way to preserve history.

And there is yet another reason for visiting Madras. We love visiting Aviation Museums! Tillamook Oregon about 3 hours north of us has a great aviation museum, we went in 2007.
Heather in 2015 on vacation we went to The Wright Patterson Museum, it was awesome and huge. So fun.
So, happy you enjoyed the newsletter.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Thank you! We never get tired of that view.
Thanks to Kent for finding some of those photos for us!
Let me ask my resident WW2 expert, my #2 grandson about the planes. He could tell you about every single one of them in there. It's pretty cool inside. Many are down on the floor of the museum and several are up high. I'll message him today and see if I can get a report back.

That's awesome that he's interested! I look forward to his report LOL! He'd love the B-17 they're working on. You can walk right up to it and in it! Anyone can help work on it too. It's an incredible project.

Wright Pat. is in Denise's backyard! We've been a couple times but we never make it through it all between milkings. I love to read all the stuff, Nathan loves to see the planes. I want to go see the air show they put on there.

We also have an air show every August….about 2-3 days worth of activity! It’s a big draw!

Yes, Wright Pat is about 10 minutes from us. Fantastic museum. The kids LOVE going there. Now that JT is working at the airport they might get to see some up close that are in regular use!

I talked to my grandson a few days ago and got the report! He rattled them all off, off the top of his head, like I figured that he would do! As I can't find my notes now, I have a partial list of what's in the museum. They hae a website that's pretty cool if you want to check it out further.....www.ericksoncollection.com. They have more than 20 aircraft and most are still in flying condition. P-38 Lightning, B-17 Flying Fortress, P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair, Grumman Duck, P-47 Thunderbolt, T-6 Texan, Douglas DC-#, K1-43, PT-17, B-25, L-29 Delphin, FM-2 Wildcat, A26 Invader, SBD Dauntless, P-39 Air Cobra, P-40E Kittyhawk, F6F Hellcat and F8F Bearcat....just to name a few!
He said there are only 5 B17's left that are flying right now and we have 2 in the museum. I think it's his favorite :)

Those museums sound wonderful, I would enjoy that alot. I haven't been anywhere like that in years.
Thanks for the ideas.
