Thanks. It took about 6 hrs down and back. I think her fever broke on the way back. She ate a little when we stopped for something. By the time we got back she was chatting away but I think she was still tired. Hopefully after a night's rest she'll be doing better. They are going to make a special day for her Thursday since she had to miss camp. She was pretty happy to see us when we got there. Mom had an appt and we figured there was no point in her dad having to miss work when we were available to go to get her.

I love that you went and got your granddaughter, Denise! How awesome is that!?!? I'm sorry to hear she isn't feeling well, though, and has to miss camp! Hopefully she will feel better quickly and be able to enjoy her special day tomorrow. Do you know what all they have planned? I really should start doing some one-on-one days with my kiddos!

Today is just a normal day for us here. I'll take the kiddos to sewing conference this afternoon. Then this evening is 4H101. This morning I am hoping to get some lettuce seeds planted, if my middle boy is able to get the bed ready. Oh and my 8 yo daughter needs me to cut out her shirt pattern. Lots to do!

Sounds like you are super busy, Shannon. Nice to be hearing from you. What is sewing conference?

Scheduled my haircut and perm for Friday morning. One of my grand twins may help Ed with some projects at his farm and here tomorrow and Friday. I have quilt guild on Thursday night - I don't like driving back in the dark, but it isn't as bad in the summer since it is lighter longer.

Sewing conference is a week of afternoons where the kids work on a sewing project from 1 to 5, and there are "experts" there to help them. My 18 yo is making a medieval dress, 16 yo is making pajama pants with pockets, 15 yo is making a long sleeved dress shirt, 13 yo is making a dress and bolero, 11 yo is making pajama pants and shirt, and 8 yo is making a skirt and shirt this week.

Our county's 4H program is phenomenal! We are really fortunate!!! The shooting program covers everything except $2.50 a child per practice for archery and $5 per round for shotgun. But all the equipment is provided as is the ammunition! They do archery, air pistol, air rifle, .22 pistol, .22 rifle, shotgun, and muzzleloader!

Wow, You are one busy woman Shannon!

Granddaughter is fine today which makes missing the rest of camp harder. I think we are going to mini golf at a special place she likes and then have supper after. I think she could have stayed at camp if she hadn't had the fever. The nurse from the 9 yr old's camp called and said that granddaughter was complaining her stomach hurt. I really hope it is just from too much stuff they don't normally eat. They eat healthy at home and you know camp with kids.

It always seems they catch something whenever there is something planned. LOL. Hoping everyone stays well when we have them next week.

Carole, it is good to catch up with you and glad your summer is off to a quiet but enjoyable start!

Today I finished the first 4 radiation treatments and things are in gear. So far no problems but I have been told the side effects come later as you have more radiation. Anyway, I am glad to be getting on with treatments and thankful that I feel OK. It seems, I have a lot of doctor visits for one thing or another but I am glad that they keep a close eye on how you are doing so that they can help right away.

Thank-you all for your thoughts and prayers!

So glad things are going well Winnie. Dad had radiation on his face and they told him what to put on it after a certain time to keep his face from doing something, drying maybe. Not sure.

Well it's always something but honestly I don't mind. Mom and dad's flight is delayed for getting home to the kiddos at 5. The pilot spilled his coffee on the flight panel and controls. So they are waiting for them to decide if it can be fixed or what. Since I already made up fresh bedding for them we will probably take the kids over to our place for the night. Then mom can get the girls for vbs tomorrow morning and Annie and I will finish her apron while they are all gone. So we get them an extra night.

Oh, oh! I bet one pilot is in big trouble - delaying a flight because of a need for coffee in the cockpit?? LOL!

They must need a lot of coffee. When we went to Fiji our short stopover in Hawaii turned into four hours because they had to fix the coffee machine.

Well honestly I think they should have given them at least dinner. They didn't leave until 7:50 and they have a connecting flight. So I'm sure they aren't getting home until the wee hrs.

Oh how fascinating! I never thought about a flight being delayed over coffee! Though I suspect having coffee dumped on controls is much like a drink dumped on a laptop! See - yet another reason to not drink coffee (I do not like coffee, hahaha). I'm sure the kiddos have enjoyed their time with you, Denise!

County Shoot was last week. Bust days!!! Thursday was shotgun, Friday was muzzleloader, Saturday was archery, air pistol and air rifle, and Sunday was finishing muzzleloader, .22 pistol, and .22 rifle. Then on Monday I had Master Gardenere meetings. Tuesday was dog practice, a community garden meeting and cake conference. Wednesday was cake conference and we worked in the community garden.

Yesterday I got to stay home (YAY!!!) and I worked on my garden here at home. I got a bunch of tomato plants planted, as well as artichokes, some herbs, and hot peppers. I also got some herb seeds and swiss chard seeds in the ground. I ended up burnt and my allergies are flared up! Today we are suppose to be in the 90s, so I will probably not work much outside. I have some things I want to do inside anyways, and the kiddos are suppose to work on their woodworking projects.

They got in about 3 am. Came up picked up the 3 youngest. Annie and I worked on her apron and then I dropped her off because she had some things to do. She and JT are going to a fishing derby tomorrow. That will wrap up a busy kind of week for them. We had plans to take them out for a day of fun until I got sick.
Here's a photo of her in her apron. She added the yo yos as she love embellishments. She learned a lot. Cutting out the pattern, making bias tape and top stitching. She already had done straight stitching. She has it on a bit crooked but the pocket is centered. She always does a silly face for pictures.
