Denise, the photo of the bread and the saying are so true. Homemade fresh Bread is one of those reassuring things about life.

"One of the things that I find distressing about life today is that people don't really seem to enjoy their work anymore. When I was growing up on Waltons Mountain, my father and my grandfather loved their work and they instilled a respect for work in each of us.”

Great quote Denise. I watch the Walton's now more than I did when it was on originally.

Our Hummingbirds have returned to our yard now and we just love watching them at their feeder. They also will sit quietly on a tree branch to rest which is something I had never seen before until last Summer at our feeders.

Hummingbirds are here, too. I love watching them.

My cousin in California had a hummingbird feeder outside her kitchen window. If they came to drink and it needed filling they would hover outside her kitchen window and stare her down until she came out and filled it. LOL!

Denise, I love these two photos you found. The ones with old farm homesteads always speak to my heart the most.

While I don't have a photo, I found this funny saying in a book about the history of America's kitchens. This comes from the Earle E. Whitehome House in July 1020. " If women ever stopped top figure out how many dishes they would have to wash for the rest of their lives, all the world would've in boarding houses!!" Even with a dishwasher, I still do a fair amount of dishes every day with things like good knives, cast iron cookware and other things that should not go in dishwashers. I can relate to this saying because when I thought about all the dishes I have washed in my life, I can see why many would say forget it and just live in a room and get their meals as as part of their monthly rent!!

Anyone else feel this way at times??
