Me, too, on the window seat. Never had one but thought reading in one, curled up in a quilt, while it was raining outside would be nice!

My thoughts exactly with a cat and a mug of hot chocolate. I could never get DH to extend the front of the room out two feet to make one for me.

Wouldn't mind having the window in our library made into one with a window seat.

A window seat would be so fun. I think I would have to fight my cats for a place to sit though, especially if it had sun beams on it. :)

Love Jan Brett!! Such good books. The Mitten is a good one. I also love The Hat and The Wild Christmas Reindeer! :)

Denise, do you ever miss your old home, or parts of it...like your chickens...in NJ?

Oh yes Marilyn, as I've mentioned before I miss the ability to have more privacy. We had land there and here we do not have much. I miss picking the wild berries that grew and the ability to have the chickens. But I would miss my grandchildren and the opportunities to be making memories with them.

I understand, I really do...the season of life that you are in right now is all about being of service to your daughter and those young grandchildren.

So enjoy them while you can...all too soon they will be grown up. Trying to earn a living, trying to figure out what God has planned for their lives.

My family has been gone on a mini.vacation.
Two evenings ago, I went with my hubby to put the kitty cats up and to meet the new chick's. Bay decided that Jasper needed to learn how to care for some critters. So way back in August.she ordered four little feather legged pullets. They came the first week of October.
I think his grandma is getting to know his chick's. According to my son...Jasper is all about big BIG things...like Tractors and dump trucks.

I think there are lots of Bittersweet feelings brought on by changes in our lives these days. Getting older brings it's own surprises and limitations and often they catch us off guard. For me, it is also a lesson to live more in the moment and appreciate the little details that are often overlooked with a very busy life as younger women.

So sorry fall has not reached your corner of the country Winnie! I'm sure as we get colder it will soon reach you there.

November 1st here in SW Washington has been wet, wet, wet. It’s rained all day and it truly feels like fall.

No windows open here today -- it got cold! At least by our standards -- 36 last night. And it was in the 80s two weeks ago.

I love this picture of the girl in the window. I would welcome some cooler weather where a cup of hot tea or coffee would warm my cold hands. Maybe next week after we get some predicted rain, things will cool off more . This week and upcoming weekend have been quite warm and humid.

We had 71 today but no open windows. I've been drinking hot tea and honey today. Sore throat and sinus trouble.

Denise, hoping you’ll be feeling better soon.

It’s been cold here today with rain expected tonight and tomorrow. There’s a possibility of snow Monday night.
