I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving. I was knocked flat with the stomach flu so missed seeing my family but DH took lots of pictures for me of kids, grandkids, and great grandkid. It looked like a great day was had by all and no one went home hungry.

Hope you had a lovely thanksgiving Winnie and all of our farm sisters.

So sorry you were ill Judith. No fun at all! Hope you are feeling better today. We had a nice kind of quiet day which was surprising with the 4 grands here. They were pretty well behaved. After dinner we put up the tree and the girls "fluffed" it out as they call it. But sadly we had to get rid of it because JT did not want to mess with the lights on it. So we took it to goodwill. I guess they can get it fixrd. Anyway another store was having a great pre-black Friday sale online so we found another prelit tree and picked it up this morning. I need to get my fall decor put away. I started doing that this morning. Then I can work on the Winter/Christmas decor.

Judith, I'm sorry you missed seeing those grandkids. They are so special. Ours is almost 11 months old. He crawls and pulls up on everything. He ate turkey, dressing, candied sweet potatoes and just a taste of pie. He moo-ed for us just like that mama cow he saw and heard as he rode the four wheeler with our son!

So sorry you were ill, Judith. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Tuesday Ed and I got our booster shots and I had my usual reaction and spent Wednesday sleeping. Ed went and did the last minute thanksgiving shopping. Thursday he brought down the Christmas tree and decorations, and put up the tree. Thursday evening my son and his family came for dinner and then we watched "A Beautiful Mind". Had a nice evening. Then yesterday we put up the fall decorations and put out some of the Christmas. In the evening we went to dinner for Thai food with Ed's son and his wife and then came back to the house and played Suspend ( a new game we found) and Rummikub. After they left I sorted out some of the Christmas ornaments and decided to use some of the older ornaments on the tree this year. Today I will decorate the tree.

All in all a great week so far.

Your Thanksgivings all sound wonderful. I am beginning to feel more human today but can't quite face the leftovers DH brought home for me but a bowl of malt-o-meal is starting to sound good. The older you get the longer the 24 hour flu takes.

Denise -- sorry about your Christmas tree adventure. Reminds me of the year long ago when we only had one car and the ex kept putting off taking us tree shopping until Christmas Eve (he hated Christmas. Scrooge.) when he came home at 6 and the kids and I took the car and went to get a tree only to find there weren't any. We found a scraggly Monterey pine in a 5 gallon can. The kids hung every ornament on the poor thing and we planted it after Christmas. I guess that tree had so much love that it grew into a big beautiful tree. That was 50 years ago and it's still there.

We got our boosters too and had sore arms for a couple of days. Same reaction I get from any vaccination.

My arm was a bit tender, but it is the fever I don't like. I'm so glad I got the booster, though.
