Bonnie your collection is awesome. I especially like your blue crock bowl. Is it vintage? I have never seen one so pretty.

Bonnie...so cute!
I found a collection of little tin pans that little girls used to use in play kitchens...I think there is a muffin pan, cookie sheets, cake pans, a little coffee pot...I can't remember what all now. I ended up getting them because they were too cute to leave in the antique store! I'm not really sure what I am going to do with them yet. They would be cute in a display or I might just let my granddaughter play with them.

This what I am working on at the moment, it has taken awhile?
I am also working on painting rocks, new for me, but fun.
Anyone up for a rock painting swap?

Have a good day

Today I worked on baking for Baylee who loves Carrot Cake. I made the award winning recipe that Ms. Lori made and gave the recipe for on you tube. Her place is Whippoorwill Holler. This is the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. After the cake is baked you poke holes on the top and pour a glaze over it. When it has cooled a bit add the cream cheese frosting. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and enjoy. It is yum.
Even using Bobs red mill gluten free flour.

Marilyn, is the only change you made to that recipe for gluten-free flour? Did you have to add anything else special to make it work? We love carrot cake and I’d like to try it.

my blue crock bowl is from Gooseberry Patch when they had a store. About 1980s I think.

Linda, the only thing I changed was the flour. I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Flour.
Bonnie, I loved Goose Berry patch. I wish they had kept their store.

Take care!

They still do cook books. As far as I know. But they stopped sending out their super cute catalouges and closed their on line store several years ago.

Darlene, your colored picture turned out very pretty! The colors you chose are so bright and cheerful.

Marilyn, I loved the Gooseberry Patch catalogues and bought little seasonal things from them. I was sad when they closed down their store, but I still have some of their cookbooks which are my favorites. I love to just read them like books because of all the little quotes, drawings and tidbits added to every page.

At present, I am thinking about some easy things to make and have on hand for Farmgirl swaps. And of course, I am thinking about September for our Apple Festival here at MJF!! LOL!!

Today is raw and cold. The north wind is whipping away. I'm canning some pinto beans today. The first 2 times I did the dry pack method. This time the beans have soaked overnight. I hope they will be good. I'm trying to get some that look more like the ones I canned as a young mom. They were home grown, dried on the vine, shelled, washed and canned. Oh so pretty and tasty too.

Side note about the carrot cake. Had reported that Bay took some of her cake home and what she left for them was gone. My husband had a piece after supper and a second piece as a bedtime snack with milk. He also has a piece in his lunch box. So the cake is good, family approved.
None of us like coconut flour. It is gritty. Bob's flour does not have that in it.

Carrot cake is Brad's favorite and he is always happy to taste test new recipes. I am going to look this one up. Thank you for sharing it, Marilyn! Did you bake it in layers or a sheet pan?

Gooseberry patch still has their online store but it is only cookbooks and calendars now. I loved their dishes and things they used to have.

I bought a stamp from them and gifts as well as cook books. I received two free cook books because early on they published a Christmas memory of mine and a recipe later on.I also bought a hands to work and hearts to God cookie cutter.

Darlene, love the project you are working on. I still have the magnet you painted of our henhouse logo on my fridge ... Reminds me of you everything I look at it!

When Pumpkin was much younger, we painted rocks.

One of the rocks is coloured with a crayon .... That's before I bought paint! lol The face is the only one I painted ... the others were all done by Pumpkin. Would you believe I still have all the rocks she ever gave me? I keep them in the jar/container .... my happy jar .... I have feathers, corks from special occasions etc in there.
