Erin was kind enough to send me a welcome packet! Unfortunately, I've had some computer issues which have kept me away from the site for a while, but I would like to introduce myself!

I'm Christine from Wisconsin-mom to 2 kids (24 and 10) and wife to my BFF. While not technically a "farmgirl," I feel like one at heart! I love quilting, baking, sewing, photography, knitting, and making life simple and homey whenever and however I can...

I approached Erin some time ago about joining the Wildflowers and am so glad to finally be able to say hello! Looking forward to getting to know my fellow farmgirls and working on projects, chit chatting, etc.

Thanks for including me!

Hello Christine!
I am fairly new to the Wildflowers too.
I see we enjoy a lot of the same things. I am working on a quilt for my oldest granddaughter. She will be 11 in September. Welcome and I hope you enjoy being here with us.

Thanks, Denise! Would love to see how your quilt turned out! I am hoping to start a sports themed quilt for my son, but I just can't seem to get started! Maybe I'll take some squares with me and do some hand sewing in the car when we are on vacation.

Looking forward to getting inspired by all the farmgirl things my new Wildflower friends are up to!

Thank you, TexasGran! I'm in Fond du Lac which is right at the base of Lake Winnebago about an hour south of Green Bay. I see Mondovi is on the other side of the state near the Minnesota border-my mom grew up in Winona, MN and visited Fountain City, WI many times (near Mondovi, I think)!

We went through Winona and stopped at a ace that makes sweaters, I bought mittens, made from scraps.

TexasGran, I think everyone that goes through Winona buys mittens, etc! I think there used to be a factory called Winona Knits, but they have since closed and perhaps their wares are now sold through Ace (not sure as I haven't been that way in a long time)...I always loved visiting my gramma there...lots of happy memories!

Hi Christine! I'm glad you got a chance to introduce yourself! I've been on a bit of a hiatus from the forum since I had a baby in May, but I should be back fairly regularly now. Welcome to our little henhouse. :)
