I just spent my evening looking at chickens on Pinterest. 2,481 pins by edel namre. The words above it were: vom ei zum huhn. Language???? I would guess Scandinavian, Norwegian, or???? This is an amazing collection of real, art, crafts, etc.

Marilyn, it is German (took German in college). Vom means from, ei = eggs and zum = chicken. Found German extremely difficult. They break words apart and put them back together as one word. Drove me insane! lol I do much better with Latin languages!

When I take Lily on our weekly farm visits her favorites are the chickens. And you know what, I think they like her too, even the roo!

Carole, I had to study German a little in college because so much classical music is by German composers with German lyrics. I found it nearly impossible to sing in -- I'm with you, give me the Latins!

Happy Day!

I love chickens and always find something cute on Pinterest!

I was telling my husband the other night that I had been petting the chickens earlier in the day. I think he thinks I am off my rocker! LOL!
But they love it and it is a very relaxing thing to do.

As a person who is always listening for music in the air, can I just say the little chicken sounds are among the most soothing in nature! Now the roos, they are the trumpets of nature's orchestra! :)

Amy, We aren't allowed to have roos here except for 10 days out of the month. Even though we live in farming area the township we are on the outskirts of says no.We used to have them but I guess someone had a problem somewhere and so now they have nixed that.

Darlene, I'd like to think they do. Of course it could be because I'm the one with the food!

I have been noticing that there are many animals that seem to be able to become pets. The obvious ones and then there are chickens, deer, horse and many farm animals. At least these are the ones I have seen personally become attached to people. I think they like the attention and interaction. Sometimes I wonder if that is the way it was intended to be in Eden to start with.
