I just want to Thank you Connie for thinking of me.
I received the sweetest package today. It was full of thimbles. I love thimbles and these are beautiful. I especially like the Dutch windmill that I will put with my blue and white collection of Dutch items from my great grandparents. These are lovely and everytime I see the little bear I will think of you and Lily June! So many bone China ones. I took a photo so you all could see too. Thanks again Connie!

Did you get it on eBay? I saw several there. I have about 200 thimbles to put in a cabinet.

I received the nicest surprise today. Linda Oliver sent me a dish draining quilt. It is a vintage print of kids enjoying Kellogs cornflakes, with coordinating prints front and back.
THANK YOU, I love it.

Gifts made by Farmgirls!! It just don't any better than that!! I sew, But not a lot anymore, because of keeping Lily June, I don't get my eyes and hands rested up enough! Since she is older now, it is getting easier and I am not as drained! although chasing a 2 year old at age 60 with MS is exhausting!!! The time is going by fast and once she starts pre-school, we won't get as much time with her, so I am trying to balance my health and time spent with her as much as possible!

Hugs! Connie

Connie, I hope you have time to write down the cute things she says. When the girls were small I took many many photos, put them in books and tried to write the cute things they said or did. I got a bit behind and had to go back...because I found a bag of notes I had hurriedly jotted down over a period of years. I was able to get the books completed just in time for Hadlee to move them up to their house. Since children do not remember being little, being able to go through the books is great.

Here is another neat idea. I just saw it, my friends daughter has started it for her two little girls.
Buy a copy of Oh the Places You'll Go, a Dr. Seuss book. Each year take it to school in the spring and have the teacher write something about the child. Keep this a secret. It is a High School graduation gift. I saw a video. A daddy did it beginning in Kindergarten.

I thought so too, Linda. Of course in Jr. Hi and High School they have a lot of teachers and coaches, etc. The girl whose dad did it for her said it was an awesome gift.

It is funny - I am the sentimental one in our family. But it is my younger sister with the really neat ideas! The first year of life for the kids, she buys a calendar and writes all their firsts on the calendar. THen each Christmas they get a photo album/scrapbook that she makes digitally on Snapfish. Her kids LOVE them!!!

I love all these ideas! I have done Shutterfly books. My scrapbook weighs a ton! I am on the 2nd one!
I did a book for my Holly that I got from Current back in the 1970s. Each year she signed her name in her own handwriting, wrote her favorite things, toys, food, school subjects, what she wanted to be when she grew up. It has pockets for report cards, and mementos, and a place for the school picture for that year. Holly just loves getting that book out and just giggling over all of it and saying awwwwwwwww. We have notes from her teachers, her achievement test scores, group pictures of classmates! I love it too!!
