I want to share a couple of things going on in my life. Mostly because I want and need your prayers and support, but also because I may be dropping in and out of sight for awhile. :( But I'll hang in there with your help!

My daughter and her long-time boyfriend have split up, and it has really caused the whole family a lot of sadness. I love my daughter very much, she is a very good daughter to me, granddaughter to my mother, and an excellent mom to my grandbaby. She is also extremely book smart, but she is not making a smart decision about this. Her boyfriend has wanted to marry her all along, but she wouldn't, and now she says she loves him, he is her best friend, but she's not "in love" with him. What the heck does that mean? Anyway, he is like the son I never had, and a wonderful father, and the whole thing is extremely upsetting. It also has increased the amount of time I have to babysit, which I am willing to do, but doesn't leave me much time at all for other things in life. So, please pray for us, and especially for my granddaughter, who will be affected by this most of all. I must say, they are doing a good job of making sure he sees her regularly, but its not the same. Not for any of us.

The other thing I'm having trouble with is this stupid herniated disc in my back. Although the physical therapy is helping, it just isn't getting well very quickly, and really inhibits me from doing stuff I want and need to do. Its so frustrating. I hope it will increase my compassion for people who have physical challenges, that would be a good thing to come out of it.

Having said all this, I still have many more blessings that sorrows in my life, so I am grateful. And I know things will be as they should be in time. But prayers are always a comfort!

And . . . I continue to pray for Marlee, Darlene, Julie and family, and all of you!

Happy Day!
Peace in our hearts, peace in the world

Oh my Amy, How sorry am I to hear this, Kids today seem to think love has to be a certain way or it isn't real, maybe she will come around to seeing that it isn't like that before it is too late to maybe go back with the guy that loves her.
I will put all of you in my prayers to get things for her more aware of what she is doing to everyone.

I will also put you in my prayers for your herniated disc and therapy.

blessings all.

:( Praying!!!!! It blows my mind about the in love versus loves! I've heard that so much! I'm not THAT old, lol, so a lot of them are my generation aging that (I'm in my mid-30s).

Amy, So sorry you are going through this. I know this isn't going to help you much but I never understood the whole "in love" thing either. We tried to teach our children that love is not just the way you feel about someone but it is a commitment to another person. I loved my husband when we first married with all those new feelings but it has meant commitment and work on both our parts to make it last this long. It has been a willingness to know and realize that those feelings come and go in marriage or any relationship and it is the commitment of loving each other at those times when we can be unlovable. I will be praying for you all. Especially your granddaughter.

Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and good thoughts! Today felt like a normal day, I had the last rehearsal with my nursing home choir before our "big" concert on Thursday. They are so excited, and to be honest, so am I!

Hope things are improving Amy and the concert goes well.

Isabelle went to Summer camp yesterday. As we went to drop her off, we stopped and got her a prepaid cell. Well, being all many, Matt tried to cut the package open with his knife and he ended up stabbing himself in the wrist. We had to go get a stitch in it. It went to the bone. It is achey and throbbing and I am worried.

On a good note, Isabelle is doing well at camp!! She is second back in brown. She has been texting me and keeping me apprised of her fun!

Alicia, you are in my prayers. Hope Matt will recover soon. You know, it is because of our kids we earn every gray hair on our head. Never a dull moment. Your family is in my prayers.

Whoa, we just had quite a storm blow through. It started blowing really hard and then quit just as quickly and started pouring. Had to run out and get our glider swing that had blown off the porch. Was surprised as it is metal, didn't think the wind would ever move it let alone blow it off there. Seems to be past now but thundering still. We are in for more later tonight.

We got hit with severe storms yesterday evening and last night. Quarter size hail in the area, trees and branches both, down. Electric was out for awhile, though thankfully not too long that we were too miserable in the heat. It is moments like those - when the electric is out and we are HOT - that I am reminded how spoiled I really am, with my air conditioning!

Today is my hubby's 37th birthday :) We made "surf n turf" with filet mignon and crab cakes... good thing we had them in the freezer from the cow we bought (the steaks that is... obviously not the crab cakes, lol). We also had caprese salad and regular salad. yummy! DD11 made her daddy a cake :) She is our official cake baker and decorator :)

My youngest - dd2 - got her cast off today as well :) The doctor said she probably will walk with a limp for the next two to six weeks. She was terribly hesitant to walk! With how they had the cast, both her knee and ankle were bent, so both were quite sore from being immobile. She is finally starting to walk on it more, though she definitely does have a limp!

Had a tornado go through. Flipped a car at the Mall and a friend of ours had a tree come down on his car. He was in it but that was safer than being outside of it. Thankful he is alright. Prayers for your daughter Shannon. That she will be using her leg and the limp will heal quickly.
