Carole, one of my next challenges will be socks. Do you knit them on three needles? Right now I'm doing whole bunch of dish cloths to work on pattern reading and improve my tension. I'm also doing plain garter stitch scarves to donate at Christmas time. My mother was an amazing knitter, she even made us argile socks! She can't really do it anymore, so I'm hoping to take over the reins (or needles, as it were!) as the family knitter. I'd love to hear about your sock knitting, the patterns you use, techniques, etc.! I'll be happy to post a picture of a project if I ever get out of knitting kindergarten and do something interesting!

Winnie, I remember seeing your beautiful vest on the big site. Didn't you make it from a vintage or reproduction pattern? The colors are amazing!

Happy Day!

For someone just starting and going to have to learn on their own, do you have any recommendations of where to start? I would love to learn to knit!

Amy, I knit my socks on 4 needles. I can send you a copy of my favourite sock pattern if you'd like. If anyone else wants a copy let me know and I will forward. It is a free pattern online.

Amy, utube has lots of video on knitting. If you are looking for a book on knitting - Anything by Ann Budd is great. Her website is:

Her Sock knitting Master class is great! She is so sweet. Check out her blog!

Thanks Carole, I'll check her out ! And I'd love a copy of your sock pattern!

Today I really felt like a member of the "sandwich generation." My daughter called early this morning begging me to come over because she was trying to pack for weekend trip to the beach and my granddaughter wouldn't cooperate (she's two, what can you do?!) So I went, and while I was there my mom who's 93 and lives with me, called and said I must come right home because there was a noise in the basement. So I raced home, and it was just the washer spinning. Sometimes there just isn't enough ME to go around. Just had to vent, thanks for giving me a safe place to do it! I know I'm blessed, but some days I'm more blessed than others! :)

Happy Day!

Amy, we go through the same thing. Many days I feel like an Oreo cookie and believe me there is not enough stuffing to go around sometimes. Feel free to vent anytime.

Not a good day today for me my little kitty who has been ill finally passed on today. I will miss her very much.
It has been a long two months or before Easter anyway. The last week has been tough just trying to get food down her. she loved to eat, it was her life and even though she didn't have the strength she loved her food bowl and would follow that bowl everywhere with an excited wiggle as she walked..
I will miss her.

I will be back on later.

Good morning everyone! Darlene I hope you feel a little better today. I'm thinking of you and sending prayers and hugs your way.

I'm babysitting my granddaughter today. My daughter works 7-7 at the hospital so I have Lily from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm. That's a long day for Grammy with a 2-year-old! What's everyone else up to today?

Happy Day!

Amy, how was your day? Did you get a chance to take a nap? lol

Spent the day in town running errands and taking care of a few appointments. I find shopping so exhausting! lol

Thank you everyone for your prayers. It has been a long day but the weather was sunny today, and even warm for here.

You all have a blessed evening,

Take care

Good Morning everyone. After our day at Storeybook land yesterday everyone was wore out and slept in. A miracle with those two girls. Thier brother is in surgery right now and the last text from my daughter said so far everything is going well. Today we are going to look for the kittens, mama moved them yesterday while we were gone, we also have another batch I haven't found yet. We need to clean the chickie box, weed eat and I signed the girls up for the kids post card swap so we need to work on that. Hope everyone has a great day!

Julie, keeping your grandson in my thoughts! Sounds like a busy but fun day!

Darlene, take care of yourself.

Today is a busy day for me. Two club meets one in the afternoon and one at night. Great group of gals. For the day club, this meet happens to be my favourite. We talk about a gentleman from around here that fought in the civil war. I had access to original letters he sent to his family. I love social history. I enjoy researching the lives of common people. To me, that's where the history is. Those letters brought me to tears. It was horrible. I just do not understand why people have the need to glorify war. God bless our Veterans past and present!

Have a great day everyone! Farmgirl hug to all of you!
