I thought it would be fun to start a thread about our Animal Family, what they mean to us and funny stories about them in our lives. I know most of us have animals in our lives but what kind do we all have.

I have 3 Doxies, a gecko and Canary.

Sherry has Doxies.

Darlene has Cats.

Peggy has Snickers her Scotty.

Tammy has Ruby her Chihuahua.

Carole has Chickens.

Ruth has dogs.

Julie has dogs, cats, cows and I do not know what else:-)

Debbie Main if I remember right has a ferret and birds?

Denise has chickens for sure I know as she is always offering eggs on facebook. Wish I lived closer to her.

What do the rest of you have, we have Joan, Marlee, Linda, Amber and Sue that I am not sure if they have animals.

Don't forget pictures as well as we all love seeing pictures. If you have trouble posting pictures in the HH send them to me and I will post them for you.

My Doxies got their Spring haircuts this week so I will try to get pictures of all 3 to post later.

So, lets hear your funny stories and see some pictures of our wonderful animal family.

Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie

Meet Princess Stella - Often referred as PS or plain old Stella! She's a hoot!

Here are a couple of my red head "Girls"! They're my personal entertainers!

Sadly, we lost Sparky last year! :( She was our Pirate chicken!

Thank you for allowing me to share!

Oh Carole, Princess Stella is so sweet, I love how she is hugging her baby.
Sweet Chickens too, it is so sad when we loose a member of our animal family, be it a dog, cat, bird, chicken, etc to me it hurts no matter what.
Thank you for sharing your animal family.
Hugs,
Debbie

Here are Lilly(baby) and Annie (mama)is the smaller of the two, they came to my yard together in 2002 with a brother who disappeared right after that and they have been living here ever since.Mama stays inside now she is getting older and unstable and baby comes in at night, or when she wants to. I will put the others up when I take some.

This is a picture of my Ruby up in Tahoe last Summer. She was not happy to be wearing the hat if only for a photo op...LOL. We rescued her 10 years ago this month so we don't know how old she is for certain, but at least 11. She is spoiled rotten!

These are the baby deer twins that have grown up in our side yard. This was a year ago, and they still come around (at least we think it's them)....

This is my Scotty Snickers...out for a walk in our first skiff of
snow this past month.
I bought him for my husband but I do everything for the dog...so, really he is mine...but I share! I loved Scottish Terriers even
before I owned one. People call Snickers THE HAPPY DOG! He loves all people, especially children.

Here he is showing off his new coat for winter and his favorite toy. Scotty Terriers are very vocal dogs. They have a very low bark and sound like a much larger dog than they really are. But when they get overly excited about another animal or something they don't like, they get a high pitched moaning sound.. that makes you think of an animal in distress or like they are being murdered. LOL

Snickers loves to chase squirrels and cats and they love to mock him every chance they get.
And he hates all things with small wheels: such as bikes,
skate-boards, roller-blades, co-carts, golf-carts etc. but car tires don't seem to bother him at all. LOL

I have also owned birds but have non at this time.

Carole...Princess Stella...looks like a Princess Puddie-Tat with her baby in her arms. LOL

Darlene...cute kitties too. I am NOT really a cat mama myself...probably because I am allergic to them.

Tammy... Ruby is so adorable. My sister had one that looked like Ruby only he was male and his name was Smokey. He lived to be 18 years old. He was a bad barker until he went deaf about age 12.
Don't you love when wild animals adopt you? Or they adopt your yard. Which ever! Hee Hee!

Marlee...sounds like Sox has the perfect name. Do you have pictures?

Darlene...Can't wait to see some pictures from you too.

Mama Hen...were are your pictures of your dogs etc????

This is a fun topic to share on. Thanks Debbie for your Creativity!!!

Love and Pet Hugs,
Peggy

How fun!!!
I have had many dogs/cats thru the years when my kids were little. We had some acerage so even had a pony, goat, chickens/ducks and a sweet pot bellied pig at one time. Many years back.
Now, kids grown.........I'm retired with some physical limitations.
Live in a suburban apt now. Sooooo.......my pet is a 7 year old cockatiel. I got her and her sister 2 years ago from people who could no longer keep them. Lost the older one about a year ago :(

So now it's just the one. Over this past year we have bonded well and she has come so very far! She is such company and a joy for me! She gets more and more trained and trusting each day!

I will go thru pics and proudly post a couple :)

Hugs for the day!

Here are some pics!

We go for a 'walk' up/down the hallway with my walker :)

Hanging out on her perch

Took her a few days......but the lure of a tree in the house with shiny things finally got the best of her and one morning she flew right to it! Lol!

Thanks for letting me share!

Ruth,
They are ! People underestimate them and how smart they are!
But you really have to earn their trust, and that's ok :)

Love hearing and seeing everyone's pets !

Here is a real sweet picture of our Leopard Gecko, his name is Pi and he is quite entertaining. He was a birthday gift to Kent, we had him for 2 months and now he is at Kent's home. Kent is really enjoying Pi, Gecko's are so much fun to watch and you can watch them for 15-20 years as that is their life span.

It is hard to see his vivid bright colors, but he is yello, white, brown and orange, that is why he is called a leopard Gecko because of his many colors.

I will share Doxies pictures soon, still trying to get all 3 together so you can see their spring hair cuts, oh and they smell so nice:-)

Hugs,
Debbie

This is a photo of our almost 17 year old TaffyAnn. She has been the best girl ever! She is a Maltese Schnauzer mix (or so we were told)! She looks just like a West Highland Terrier, only her fur is very, very soft.
I have to find photo's of our other two pups, Gracie Bell, a Blue Merle, mini Aussie and Barney, who was a rescue from WalMart parking lot. Dave calls him his Blue Ridge Wired Hair Terrier - we have no clue what he is other than "cute"!
Photos to follow!
