Good evening ladies,
I have a few questions and need help cause I can't find the answer. I planted a small herb garden today. Walmart had their herb plants on sale for 1.00. So I have been wanting to do this for a while. My question is would this count for Bee Good to Mother Earth. It says if you plant one row of squash it counts. It doesn't say a thing about herbs. So I was wondering if this would work. I saw another badge about drying them etc. I am still researching them and how they grow etc. If you have any suggestions that would be wonderful.

also do you know where I can get a fairly easy half apron pattern. I look on Mary Janes but I felt some of those might be a bit hard yet for me.

Thanks girls for your help.
Tammy

Tammy,

You can plant anything you want . . doesn't have to be "squash"
GO FOR IT!!!! Be sure you look at all the requirements (I don't remember them)

I make half aprons by cutting:
- fabric 36 inches wide and 18 inches long. Along both short sides and one long (bottom) edge press over 1/4 inch and then fold over an additional 1/4 inch and machine stitch. It will be hemmed on all sides and bottom.
- cut another piece 4 inches by 20 inches for the waistband and 2 pieces 4 inches by 26 inches for the ties.
- pocket(s) can be any size you wish (I make mine double thickness for durability) If you double the pocket, put right sides together, sew all around, leaving an opening approx. 1 1/2 inches so you can turn it right side out, clip the corners, press flat and machine stitch it wherever you want in on the apron down one side, across the bottom and up the other.
- run double gathering stitch across the top of apron, gather it up to fit the waistband, remember to allow seam allowance on either end. I sew the waistband on the reverse side and then fold over to the front . . sew the ties into tubes leaving one end open to turn. Place open end of ties, right sides together to waistband and sew the ends up so that waistband can be turned and ties will be on the right side. Press the front edge of the waistband under, pin to apron and machine stitch it down.

Hope this helps . . but if it doesn't make sense and you want to try it, let me know and I'll try to be more helpful. It's VERY BASIC!!!!.

CJ

CJ,
If it is not too much trouble. I hate to be a bother. But when I started quilting I needed pictures. I have never sewed a thing past a quilt..honest so this is a BIG step for me. So if pictures is not hard foryou to do I would so appreciate it. But don't feel like it is a big hurry.

thanks so much

I'm more of a visual learner too. Give me something and I can usually copy it, but tell me and I might goof!

Laurie,
I'll send you the same pics I sent Tammy . . . an apron I made yesterday for my Farmers Market inventory. So . . . just refer to what I posted AND the pics.
Then, let me know if there is something that doesn't make sense or whatever and we'll go from there.
I hope to be HELPFUL!!!

Dear CJ,

I just finished my half apron. How do I post a picture to our henhouse? (I already know how to post pictures for merit badges.) Thank you!

Sincerely,

Rali

Rali,
You need to open a Photobucket account (is free) first and upload your pics into that, edit them and then you can post them in the Connection/Henhouse.

I emailed you the topic from Technical Support that are the instructions that Gabe posted. Hopefully that will guide you. Once you do it a few times it's pretty easy.

Let me know if it doesn't make sense.
THANKS!
CJ
