Thank you Denise --- it was a great Saturday. The quilt guild had a class to learn a new technique using up scraps. I completed 8 blocks; enough for a small runner.

What was the new technique, Judith? I have heard of one where you put tiny/small scraps on a fabric with a spray adhesive and cover with netting and iron, or something like that. Was your project similar? I have a bag of tiny scraps. I was going to see if a teacher might want them to use for chidlren to make pictures with. Maybe one of these "make fabric from scraps" methods would be a use for them.

This is it Linda. You start by pinning/glueing the center kite piece on the foundation then sewing the strips on. Easy peasy. We used lightweight Pellon for the foundation but you can use a lot of things: muslin, pellon, ugly fabric. I have a lot of leftover strips from the Gypsy Wife quilt so this is a perfect way to use them up.

That's similar to the spider web pattern that I am using for my selvage quilt blocks at my block echange at the guild.

It's a good way to use up all those strips that accumulate. I made the eight blocks in about 5 hours so it's pretty fast too.
